glad to hear all of the Oct 1 and 2 folks are doing well. just wanted to let you guys know about a product I found at Wal*Mart today. My LB office carries a product called Isopure (25 or 42 grams of Protein in a tube costing $38.00 for 12). Well while shopping today for my whey protein I found something called Body Fortress Super Whey Protein Shot (2.9 oz, 26 grams of protein and only $1.97 each*). You can purchase individual viles or a pack of 6 for $11.82*. I bought 6 and will let you know how they taste when I have one.

Hope this helps anyone on a budget. They also have whey protein in a huge container for under $15*

I was banded yesterday. I am a little sore today, no gas pains yet:-) I took a dose of the liquid lortab the Dr. prescribed last night and slept well, that is, until my cat jumped up onto my stomach (OUCH!). I went to Walmart today, walked about 30 minutes. Glad to hear everyone else banded on the 1st and 2nd are doing well. Good luck to everyone who will be banded this month. Oh by the way, I only had to be on a clear liquid diet for 2 days before my surgery, it seems like everyone else had to be on some sort of pre-op diet for a longer period of time. Could it be because I am diabetic and on insulin? I'm off work now for 2 weeks. I'm so happy to finally get banded. I've been trying to get approved for almost a year and a half. Cigna wouldn't approve me. My company changed hands and we now have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they approved me in about a month. I was able to use the psych eval, nutrition class, etc. that I had done in May 2007.

Dixie.. I was just taking a nap and my cat totally just jumped on my stomach too. I thought I was going to have to take her down.. HA HA.. She has been trying to eat the head phones to my ipod and my breathing inspirometer.. She is being crazy.. I think they know we are not feeling 100% and they are just trying to help, but don't realize they end up hurting us ha ha

I am glad you are doing so well! Were you able to drive to Wal-Mart? I think different doctors have different guidelines about the pre-op diet. Your doctor's plan sounds great to me. I have a 2 week mostly liquid pre-op regime. What is the Lortab for? Is it a sleep med?:w00t:

It is very great to hear from a few of those who were banded this week... take it easy & watch out for those loving cats:ohmy:

... thanks for the tips on Protein Shots - very good for a budget. Too bad I didn't know earlier this week. I've been drinking EAS Advantage Carb Control - they had good flavors; Surgeons office suggested optisource, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

DH wouldn't give up and stopped by GNC and picked up 5 expensive bottles of Isopure (yuck). They were about $4.69 ea.; 40 Grams of 100% Pure Ion. I had to mix it with 2 sf popsicles in order to get it down. Lesson Learned.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
