My doctor should have everything he needs next week to send into my insurance company. I just pray that they approve it. I'm hoping I will be able to schedule in October. September is so crazy at our office and I was told that my insurance company had up to 30 days to make a decision. All of you please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thank you Nightstart, I thought you might be tall, and you carry yourself so well. I am short and round like a beach ball, LOL!!!! I had a slip last week with a complete unfill and need to adjust my ticker wt as I have gained. Whatever the scales says tomorrow is what I will put on the ticker. The hunger is killing me and boy howdy do I miss my band!!!!

Again, sorry I don't post all that often but I'm still here.

I'm still at about the same weight for over a month myself. I'm bouncing between 218 & 220. I have a Doc/s appt on 8-26 and hope to get a fill. I'm sure I need it. I noticed that I can eat more than I should before I feel full.

I'm going to try to break below 200 by the end of the year.

It sounds like everyone is doing very good, if their losing slow or not.

Just hang in there,

Don

Well guys. I FINALLY had a fill. I am losing again and I am back down to my lowest again. Yay! WOW I needed this a while ago! I didn't think so...I was wrong. I eat 1/2 c. of food and I am stuffed. It is nice to have that again!

Keep us all posted on how you are doing and for those of you October Bandsters that are looking at surgery...well....one year from now this is the chair you will be sitting in. It has a great feel to it!

Well, I was hoping to have a September date, but with my doctor's office taking forever to fax over a letter the insurance requires,,, it's looking like it might be October. My birthday is Oct. 9th,,, so maybe I'll get surgery for my b-day:-) I've got Cigna and I've done 6 months of pre-approval stuff that they require,,, but I'm sure they will take their time in giving the approval. They are paying 100 percent on my surgery since I've met my out of pocket maximum this year,,, good reason to drag their feet, lol:-)

I'm excited now,,, but I'm sure I'll be a basket case when the time get's close,,, I've NEVER been put to sleep and that alone scares me.

But like so many people say,,, the time will be here and gone before we know it and then we will be trading stories of how are first few weeks after surgery are going. Can't wait for that pureed meat, lol:-)

I'm getting banded on October 6, 2009!

They actually called me on Tuesday to tell me they had a cancellation and wanted to see if I wanted to take the spot.. but its on September 8! I didn't want to do it so soon because i'm a bridesmaid in a wedding on September 19th... just figured it wasn't the best idea.

So excited! My 10 year high school reunion is in 2010 and I just realized I could use that as a good goal for some weight loss :(

Yay for October Bandsters! It does seem so far away and I too just found out. I had an option of September 15th originally, but I'm leaving town for 10 days just 6 days after that..so I figured this would work out better! :(

I'm so anxious for that day to come. I hated my highschool graduation cause I was a sore eye amoungst all the twigs, and now at College graduation..I have something to look forward to! :cursing:

I love it! You look great too!

At my last weigh in they said that I am "normal"...I know that is wrong but what the heck...I will take it. As long as I can remember I've been only an "L" away from normaL, pretty sure that won't change unless I have a name change.

Shout it out Julie! You so deserve it.

Go Julie Ann!!! I can't believe we're headed to our bandiversary. I'm losing soooooo slowly (but then I always did). I'm seeing Dr. D Sept 10 - I think I need a fill this time. It's been since March! I still PB once in a while, but I notice that I can eat more (than I should). I'm inching towards my goal. I'd love to be in the 180's by October 24. I'm getting lots of NSV's tho - people I haven't seen complement me all the time. I was just at a family reunion and my cousin asked me if I'd gotten taller!!! I actually shrunk 3/4 of an inch because I'm getting older. Dang! that just means more weight to lose!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
