I have not had my surgery yet but I can imagine any major life change can bring on depression.

I wonder...............do you think maybe it's part of grieving.

Your life will never be the same again.

That is sometimes hard even though it may sound strange, the changes in your life will be positive, but your life is changing in a major way!

One other thing that comes to mind is that your body has undergone a major change and maybe some of it is your bodys physical reaction to those changes.

I know you probably want to be happy at this time.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

Everyone reacts differently to change.

I just want to encourage you to hang in there and always know it is okay to cry.

p.s. don't be afraid to talk to your Dr or the nurse!

While being on my Preop diet, I am mourning juicy cheeseburgers and an ice cold coke...maybe some mozzarella sticks and ranch dressing.

I was banded on 9/19...took my Twilight series (book 3, cant think of the title) to the hospital with me and didn't read a page of it!!! GRRR...

If you are looking for another book series to keep your mind busy, try Janet Evanovich's NUMBERED books...she has 14 out and they are a riot. Once you get past book 1 (One For the Money) the books just get better and better and it's like crack...you can't put them down! Two to Get Deadly...etc... Four to Score, High Five... They are extremely popular at the library!

Good luck to us all! I am back at work today (4 days after sugery) but have decided to go home at lunch and rest this afternoon....

I read "one for the money", and actually bought the next one..just don't know where I put it.

OK, Here is my first posting. I have completed most of the pre-op steps. I'm scheduled for banding on September 30th. Anxious and nervous!!!

Any great advice for preparing.

Thanks. I want to stay with the September Group and watch our great successes!! It is exciting. Looking forward to less of all of us.

In the BANDS!!

hey Slim I'm in Tn. Who's your Doctor?

Hi. I am seeing Dr. Ponce in Chattanooga. I didn't realize you were in TN. There are a few of us on here.

I LOVE that you identify with the books!! I was so obsessed with Janet's books...I got worried when I need the next one, they would be checked out...I told my hubby...I will just be a minute in the library..I am getting the next book...lol...I walked out with 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13!! I would turn it in as soon as I read it! Then I got mama hooked...she's turned very sassy since reading them... lol..she dyed her hair RED 3 wks ago!! She's 68!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE GETTING BANDED THIS WEEK AND NEXT!!!! I got banded on Friday 9/19 and each day I wake up I feel so much better and stronger!!!

Hi Carol...

GET EXCITED!!! A few more days!!! WOOOHOOO!!! You will do great.

My doc allows me to drink anything I COULD easily get through a straw but DO NOT USE A STRAW. :girl_hug:

I have used gatorade, water, water with those pour in flavored things...Crystal Light..etc..., melted milkshake, protein shakes (love vanilla Myoplex from EAS), vanilla protein powder have added to : milk, yogurt, sugar free pudding, applesauce, mashed potatoes. Sugar free popcicles, soups!!!
