Hi All! Just got my insurance approval! My Drs. office called and set up September 8 for my LapBand! I can't wait!:biggrin: Maybe we could share our journey together!

Hi All!! Haven't posted for a while... but been still lurking around! LOL I just had my first fill yesterday...3 months after surgery! I already had 1cc in my band and my Dr. added 2.5cc more which gives me 3.5cc. This was all done under fluro and went well! I really can't tell the restriction yet as I have to be on liquids for 2 days and the 2 days soft food. Maybe the weight will start coming off again! Hope all is doing well! Teresa

Hi All... Anybody have TriCare Prime Remote? My surgeons office submitted everything for authorization for the LapBand! I checked the TriCare website and it's been pending for 2 days now. Am I being impatient? LOL Getting anxious now~:confused2: Teresa Wanted to put an edit in here! I just got approved from TriCare for the Surgery! My date is Sept 8! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to my 1 month post op Drs. apt and everything went well. I have lost 15 pounds since surgery!!!! I'm still drinking a protein shake in the morning as this is a good source to get my daily protein in! Other then that I'm on soft foods. My Dr. wants me to experiment with some different foods. He was really happy about my loss so far, and since what I'm eating is keeping me feeling full... he said I don't need a fill yet. I go back to see him in 4 weeks. He also said that I really should be only losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. I told him I weigh myself all the time! LOL This is my addiction or compulsive behavior.... I really need to stop but I can't ! He said I need to throw the scales out!!! LOL Can't do that yet!!!:thumbup: Needless to say I'm doing great and hope everyone is too!!! Teresa -

Thanks for the nice message! I am doing really well! Went back to work this week. Also had my f/u with the Dr. So far I have lost a total of 25 pounds!!! Feel pretty good but still a little tender! Did you ever find a support group! The one in Winchester is great!!! This is where my Doc is. btw... the bubble burps hurt in the chest LOL!!

Hi everyone Teresa here from West Virginia! Surgery on 09/08/08 in Winchester, VA - Dr. Troy Glembot! (WONDERFUL DOC)!!! I had my first follow-up apt today with the Dr. I have lost an additional 5 pounds since surgery! I am now down 24 pounds!!! Woo-Hoo:lol: He was really happy! He also pulled my steri strips off! I had to have more blood wrok done today! He also said I should stay on puree foods for another couple weeks! (I'm just happy to be on puree foods!) I found this chipotle salmon at Wal-mart - cooked it and added a little tomato soup and it was DELICIOUS! He was happy when I told him I was able to walk 2 miles now! I still get full fast! I hope this sensation last! So anywho! I'm excited and I hope you all are doing well also!!! Take care and Good Luck to those about to be banded!!! Teresa

Thanks for sharing Janine! You are right we are compulsive eaters! It's like AA... we can't even have one! Whether it's potato chips, m&m's, icecream! We have to eat because we KNOW (LOL) food will spoil if we don't eat at all! I am newly banded and still get full quick. I hope this feeling last! I know that the band is part of me and I will have to live by its rules! But I can't go back to where I was! Thanks for sharing your story and bringing awareness to us!!! Hi Kiwee, You will need to take everything off. They gave me a really big gown to put on. While waiting, they started my IV, and took some blood. I talked to my Dr, and the anesthiesiologist. They gave me what they call a "cocktail" and then the next thing I remember was waking up in recovery. I don't remember the OR at all. Also, don't think they took any pics. wouldn't care anyway if it helps others! I'm not very modest!!! LOL:lol: Good Luck!!! Teresa

Oh My! Waking up to the nurses wondering what I had would give me a start!:sad: They did my xray at the hospital, so I got to watch the contrast go down! I got to see my port too! Pretty cool! I still haven't been very hungry though. Good luck and take care!!!! Teresa

Hey Everyone! I just had my surgery on the 8th! Yippee!!!:scared2: I'm still sore. Partly at the port site. But also feeling chokey and tightness in chest. I think it's because of the hernia repair. The Dr. said it was bigger then he thought. I have been doing my breathing exercises and took two walks today. I haven't been very hungry and it's all I can do to get liquids in. Hi all! I was banded on the 8th!!! Yippee!!! I am now a BandSTAR!!!:omg_smile: I did really well! I stayed overnight at the hospital and wasn't d/c until 4pm. I am really sore and it's tight when I breathe. I think this is probably from the hernia repair. The Dr said it was larger then he thought. I'm not very hungry and it's all I can do to get fluids in! Thanks for the prayers!!! Will be needing them!!! I am glad that I didn't have to do a strict diet! The healthy choice meal was really good at dinner time! But I was strict on what I ate because I didn't want to have the fatty liver issue! I woke of a little nervous this morning and I didn't think I would be! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am Monday morning! So today it is all Clear liquids and then a yummy cherry magcitrate this afternoon!:thumbup: Will check in after surgery!!! Thanks! Teresa -

Hey GG!! I laughed when you said while walking you were able to let a burp rip ..... So walking does help this somewhat? I am also worried about the gas pain!!! Course I guess this is the least og my worries right now!!! LOL Thanks for the nice comments and thinking of me!!:tt1: YOU take care of yourself!!!
