Just had surgery in Mexico with Dr. Rodriguez

Recommended Posts

Not quite sure if I am posting in the right place...sorry just learning about how to post etc. I just got banded by Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Juarez Mexico. It was outstanding! I think the U.S. could learn a lot from the Mexico doctors. Dr. Rodriguez was compassionate and so knowledgable. The hospital was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. (and believe me I was very skeptical) Everything went so smoothly and mostly because of my patient Facilitator Jessica. She walked me through the whole process. Answered all of my hundreds of questions , got me scheduled and continues to take my calls with more questions. I would recommend anyone call her because she is a band patient also and can help you in so many ways. She was more successful than most bandsters so I knew she would give me useful tips. Her number if anyone is interested is Jessica -503-539-3023. Good luck all

signed newly banded and loving it

I had Jessica too!! I had the same experience! Everything went great! Good luck on your journey. Jessica still takes my calls 6 months later. She really is a great person. I was so happy with my whole experience. Anyone thinking of this surgery should call her and have Dr. Rodriques do the surgery. Plus the hospital was the best I've ever been to. Best wishes, Chrissie

I went to Dr. Corvala in Tijuana and had an excellent experience as well. I would highly recommend it and the price was very affordable.

I am happy everything went so well for you. Happy melting :0)

I paid 7710 thousand total for everything. I got the Realize band. In the US the cheapest I found was 13,000 in Colorado. Plus in the US you have to go home the same day. In mexico I got to stay in the hospital for 2 nights. US lap band can be anywhere from 13,000 to 45,000.

Wow.. I'm heading there next Wednesday, Juarez Mexico with Dr. Rod!

Amazing, can you offer me any advice? Anything you'd do different?

Anything you wish you had taken, but didn't?

Was it hard to find your ride from the airport in El Paso, assuming of course you flew?

Hope to hear from you, I'm ready but to hear from someone who literally was JUST THERE would boost my spirits.

Anything you'd like to share would be super!

Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
