  1. Have lost 22 lbs. Have had one fill, just last week. Thank goodness my doctor is very aggressive. He put in 5.5cc in a 10cc band.
  2. I was 208 for first dr appt. 200/199 day of surgery on 7/24/2008. Yeah your weight loss will be less than most but steady. I've lost total of 24 (including pre-surgery diet). I'm happy and would do again without question.
  3. All I'm saying is I did it last night - I took 2 small sips of hot tea (AFTER) and I was fine within 5 minutes, no throw-ups, not worse, better! I know the pineapple or papaya is preferred but it sounded like she was a couple hours from that option.
  4. I know somebody said don't drink... but it happened to me last night.. a few sips of HOT tea helped. I've heard heat will slight open the band a little
  5. I'm with you. I have not had my first fill yet, not until 9/5 (6 weeks after surgery), however I've steadily lost 1-2 lbs per week. But it's pure will power.. I've been crying in my pillow at night I'm so hungry and I'm afraid that he will say.. no fill today - your losing okay.
  6. I'm glad I found this thread. I'm also from Dallas (actually northeast tarrant county). I got my band on 7/24 from Dr. David Kim. I'm still on liquids (until Saturday), then I can start mushys. So far have not really been hungry yet - it will come with a vengeance when it does come). Just getting beyond the too sore to move stage. Most of the incisions are healing nicely except the port one which I've heard takes a bit longer. Have had some gas pains and the Gas-X strips really don't help a bit. I've also find the heating pad doesn't help - best thing I have found is an cold pack. I bought one of those big ones that covers your whole tummy - and it's been my best friend for days. Take care for all those healing and good luck to those about to have the surgery. Katarina
  7. Going on Thursday. Have not been nervous for some reason. I guess I've been researching so long that I feel fairly prepared.:seeya:
