Prayer Request

Recommended Posts

I seriously need your prayer as I walk into the future with a new attitude about food. I am under a tremendous amount of stress for a variety of reasons that I won't list here. In the past I've used food as a drug to calm my nerves, and sooth my hurts etc. When I am unable to do that I find myself very sad at times. Although I haven't had a fill, and I am able to eat just about anything I know that I shouldn't. I am 3 weeks post op and I've eaten things that I know that I shouldn't i.e. potato chips, cheese cake. Thank you.

You will definitely have my prayers. Food is something we must face everyday. It is an addiction that can not be avoided. Are you able to exercise? It may help you feel better. It works for me. If not, try to eat something allowed that is Protein, then immediately find something to fill your time...read, listen to music, find someone to give you a massage, pray.

It isn't going to be easy to stop old habits. Believe me, I know. Also, a question...Even though you are making bad choices, are you eating less of them? If not, you need to try to get your first fill scheduled. Good Luck! I will be praying for you.

Thank you :smile2: I love to exercise and can't wait until I can return to the gym after my first post op dr's appt (8/5). Currently, I walk everyday as much as possible and no I'm not eating more - it's just dealing with what my dr said is normal i.e not being able to use food as a crutch any longer. It's all just been compounded by the unusually high level of stress that I'm dealing with right now. Thank you again for your prayers.

Hang in there. I will pray for you. I, too, am struggling right now. Also three weeks out, no restriction, no fill till sept 16. I am walking, trying to eat right, and feeling a bit depressed. All I know to do is do the right things and counter all the bad stuff in my mind with the words of truth: God is with me, He loves me, and I can do all things thru Him. I hope things get better for you soon!

Hello, I've been away from the forum for a while, but I'm seriously needing prayer. I'm scheduled for knee replacement surgery, and I have to lose 5 more lbs or my doctor won't do it. My weight loss has been very slow: I've discovered I'm a real stress eater and Satan has been doing double time in keeping me stressed. My surgery date is 23 Sept 09, and there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to do this. Any encouraging words would be appreciated.

I have said a prayer that you all (myself included) stay strong and get what we want. Satan is always busy trying to play tricks on us and keep us unhappy. I'll pray for you, you pray for me....and watch God change things!!

I suggest until you get your surgeon's approval to begin exercising that maybe you start walking more. I have noticed that the increase of endorphins from my increase in exercising has greatly helped me with symptoms of depression. When I get that nagging feeling to eat something that I know I shouldn't, I try to change my focus by doing something physical. Go outside and walk around the block, take a swim, pick up a book and start reading, anything, just change your focus.

Good luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
