I was just approved by Aetna - Wrote down what I ate (or what I should have ate) wrote down my walking increased by a couple of mins every couple of days, 8 glasses of Water, and a chewable Vitamin. Most important with Aetna is don't forget the every 30 day checkin - I was a week late on one and had to start the whole 90 days over again! GRRR Didn't have to track amounts eaten just what I ate and it had to be healthy also didn't have to track my weight loss or gain and I was pretty borderline for appoval in the first place. The only thing they asked for was a copy of my sleep study which was also borderline. All in All it was relatively painless believe it or not.

I just got the news from Tricare today that I have been denied for the Lapband.

I'm really upset about it because it was something I was very much looking forward too, I even saved some of my "skinny jeans" just incase I would loose the weight.

They denied me because they said my co-morbidities were not severe enough. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Plantar Fasciatis and Arthritis in my knees. But that's not good enough. Even though I wake up in the morning and can't walk because my feet hurt (the fascitis), it has to get bad to the point where I would need surgery for that before they would approve me. Or I would have to contract Diabitis from the Ovaraian Syndrome. Or IDK...have my knee amputated above the knee before I can get the Lapband. I'm so mad right now I'm typing fast and I know I just misspelled like 8 words in there.

I am 110 lbs overweight, in very much mental and physical pain because of it, and they don't see it! Supposedly I have to wait a min. of 6 months or even a year before I can reapply.

But the worst thing of all is dealing with my anxiety about my husband seeing me (with all the weight I've gained since he deployed) and not being attracted to me. It's enough to make me go insane.

I was denied at first too. I waited 6 months and applied again - going through all the other possible co-morbidities like sleep apnea, things I hadn't been checked for before. It was so frustrating because the denied me because of lack of comorbidities too.... I was like.. let's get this done and PREVENT those additional problems! Ah well, after the reapply I was approved and went right in. Very glad I waited to reapply instead of paying out of pocket but if I hadn't been approved that 2nd time then I would have cash payed.

Hang in there. I hope you find a solution before your hubby comes back or that you are so pleasantly surprised by how much he loves and wants you in any body.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
