I asked this in another area but did not get the answer I am looking for. I am married and we have a very healthy sex life:wink_smile: I am worried about once the port is placed is there anything that I may need to do to make sure that I do not threaten the placement of the port? No one can seem to answer this for me so far. And I have not been able to ask my doc's office about it...:cool2::blushing:

well...I will say that for me...I haven't had any problems. I asked my doctor before the surgery and he said that when I was comfortable enough...then there wasn't any reason not to carry on as usual. It's been a little more than two months since my surgery...and everything has been all good. I think we took two weeks off right after the surgery...but that's it.

I started back about 3 weeks out and it was all good lol! I actually asked my GYN because she has had the surgery herself and she said that I could do anything that didn't cause me any discomfort. If you do feel pain then just get on top and that should take care of it:)

Many people have problems with their port healing properly so only you will know how your port feels. I didn't have any problems with my port healing. My port is about 3-4 inches below my bra and I like it there. My bra doesn't rub against my port and neither does my jeans.

I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best!!!!!!!!!!

As my pants get a little too big the waist does rub against my scar, it was red for about 2 days until I realized what was going on... as far as sex after surgery its fine...do it when you feel able.

It so funny you should discuss this subject...about two months ago I got paranoid because me and my partner got a lil raunchy in the bedroom. I swore that band slipped because I felt no restriction. I called my surgeon and his nurse told me when I can't hold food down then that would be an indicator. I'm ok and a girl just like getting worked out a lil sumthing behind closed doors.

Nice to know ladies! I'm going to be banded on January 22nd and my hubby was very interested in this! Thanks for your answers.

The only thing I would say is be careful with doggystyle for a few weeks as you stretch your stomach muscles somewhat and a sharp pain can come out of nowhere...other than that try whatever you like and if it hurts move around! :-)

I remember asking my nurse 3 weeks after surgery if I could participate in "adult activities?" He looked at me sidways as asked me "what are you referring to, cause there are a lot of things adults do." He then went on to say, "for the first month, let him do all the work, and you just lay back and enjoy." Now, I can't say that the statement was too appropriate coming from my nurse, but that was all I needed to hear. LOL! That is just what I did. I have instructions, and enjoyed.

So do what works for you. I say take my nurses advice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
