7_5_142.gif I got my first fill today. It was fine. I got about 1/2 way home and started hurting so bad in my back and felt like I was going to pb. My jaws are even hurting. Don't know if it was the fill or from me mowing the yard before the fill today.

Hey gone being your age I would initially say it's the yard work for the back but jaw pain?? Has it gone away yet? I would call my doc just in case.?

You should call your doctor. Jaw pain is one of the signs of a heart attack. Call now!

It wasn't after my fill, but I've had panic attacks that have the exact symptoms of a heart attack... it's the scariest thing and extremely painful... Was your arm hurting too?

7_5_142.gifThank you all for your responses. No arm wasn't hurting. Back stopped hurting after I pb'd and then took a gas-x strip. jaw still hurts some but eased up a lot when I drank some gatorade. Wonder if I was'nt kinda dehydrated even tho I drank Water while I was mowing and after. Or maybe 2 much before the fill. But I am better now Thanks again

Hello all. I am the woman who just SAILED through the lap band surgery, recovery and months afterward. I was banded end of April 2008, did fine with my first fill of 1 cc and THEN felt like I was going to die after my 2nd fill. Word to the wise: be careful after your fills. I thought one day of liquids was fine and I thought the second day that I could eat mushy food. Turns out that a multi-grain 1/2 bagel and cream cheese the day after my 2nd fill (1.5 cc - total 2.5 cc's now) might have gotten stuck, according to my doctor. I was fine all day and then ate a smallish amount of well-chewed food that evening. I was in SO MUCH PAIN for 3 HOURS! I threw up 8 times! First time I had ever thrown up since the April banding 2.5 months earlier. I threw up not only my little amount of food, but also lots of clear liquid. The internet informed me that this was saliva that your body makes to try to move the obstruction through the stoma. I am not a baby, live in chronic pain every day for 45 years - BUT this is a PAIN I WILL NEVER FORGET. Must be what a heart attack feels like. I recovered finally but was very frightened. I am a biologist, so I knew something was very amiss. I may not even get filled again. I am losing slowly, but losing. This last fill restricted me very much. I can hardly eat much at all. Big lesson here....be careful of what you eat. The problem is you don't know what you can eat until it creates a problem for you. Tried chicken nuggets from McDonalds, made me feel bad, hamburger was ok - strange....cole slaw didn't sit well tonight. I wish you knew ahead of time. I thought a multi-grain bagel would be fine, I had eaten them before and it caused (maybe) such a problem I nearly went to the emergency room. I panted and moaned for 3 hours. IF I get filled again, I will definitely follow my doctor's instructions better and not think that, just because I did so well in the first few months, that everything is the same now. Believe me people, THIS PAIN WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY ! Worst pain I ever felt, ever!

7_5_142.gifSorry Fitgirl to hear it was so rough. Maybe in time you will get another fill. I finally figured out why my jaw was hurting. I have a hill beside my driveway. it is gentle for about 3/4 of it then the rest is very steep for about 15/20 ft. long and 5 ft high. To mow this part Usually my son-in-laws would mow for me. But all have finally moved out and I needed it mowed! It is supposed to rain again this weekend, so I couldn't wait to have them mow it. But on the steep part I stand in my neighbors yard and get a running start to push the mower up the hill. I had my jaws clenched. Then I was so nervous about my fill that I guess I kept them clenched until after the fill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
