MusicMan,

I am tearfully reading these posts and my heart aches for you, your wife and Lucy. As a mom of two dogs, I know the excruciating pain of your grief. You are in my prayers and I am certain that Pedro is chasing rainbows. I'm so sorry for your loss....

I am so very sorry for your loss! You are not at all crazy, you have lost a family member! Please be kind to yourself and allow yourself some time to grieve. Our pets are our furry babies and mean to much to us. Please know you are in my thoughts. Pedro was certainly a lucky puppy to have been so loved.

Sending hugs from Beantown,

BeantownDiva, Sushi and Sashimi (my 2 kitty babies)

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a 1 year old pug we lost about 3 weeks ago due to eating corn. She had vomitted it all up but was very dehydrated when she was admitted to the hospital. She died in surgery when she vomitted and it went into her lungs which I hear is common for even humans. We had her cremated and will put her in our backyard soon. I understand the crying and the emotional connection you have with a pet. Our other pug is doing well. She is about 1.5 years old. She sleeps with us now and is very well adjusted. She does look for her playmate especially if you mistakenly call out the other dogs name. We are going to replace candy when we can come up with the money. Its not the same without her. She was a small dog like yours, weighing about 20 lbs. She was very timid but extremely loving. I hope your devestation is short lived. You are in my thoughts.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this, I have dogs and cats and they are so much a part of our family, I call them "my kids". I have been lucky that most of them lived long happy lives. It's so sad when they die so young.

Take care and remember you will see Pedro on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

((((hugs))))

My dog, Pedro (chihuahua) was killed by a car today. This may not be the best place to post this but it's all I've got. He was 10lbs. White with brown ears. He was extremely smart. I could tell him to "go lay down" and he would climb in his bed until I called him. He knew several tricks. He loved bones. And anytime we would take him outside to play he would always come in with a big smile. I always thought pet owners were crazy when they would cry over an animal, well, call me crazy.

Oh MusicMan, I am so sorry to hear about Pedro. I have a Chihuahua, Dixie Rose, that is just the love of my life (don't tell my husband!). I had a Schnauzer that died of lung cancer at the age of 10. It was like losing a child. I can't tell you how hard I cried for her. Just hang in there. I hope the person that hit him at least had the decency to stop.

I'm so sorry for your loss, MM! You're not crazy at all, dogs aren't called "man's best friend" for no reason! When I was in high school my dog got cancer and had to be put to sleep. I was completely devistated, and I'm sure it's even worse to lose a loved pet in an unforseen accident like you did. He looks like he was such a sweetie.

Huge hugs to you and I wish you all the love in the world.

Pedro was a classy little guy. I am sorry that you lost him.

I too have grieved for my fellow mammals. Later on when the pain is behind you the love will always remain.

HI,

I had such a wonderful, loving, comforting mini dauschund who was my best friend for 13 years. I could always count on her to greet me with a wagging tail and sitting beside me every evening. She slept with me and went everywhere I could take her when I traveled. She grew old with grace. However, congestive heart failure took her from us on earth, but her spirit still lives on! I did get another mini dauschund a couple of months later. Could not stand the quietness and empty feel of my condo and he has helped me get over the loss. HOWEVER, he is quite the rounder and hyped up sorta dog that TD was 13 years ago. I forget that not only did she get older, I got older  so having a puppy has been a shock to my quieter lifestyle. He is a sweetie though and is giving me the love and support that TD did. Bless you and your family!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
