Kathy could be cellulite or it could be lymph nodes you are feeling. Now that you have skinny arms, you my be feeling stuff that has een there all along and just didn't notice.

I am still running gang. workout are great too. True confession time: I ate 4 little mini chocolate covered pretzels. First chocolate in months! You know what, it wasn't the heaven I thought it would be. It was good; but it wasn't what I made it out to be.

However, ice cream is NEVER allowed in the house - it is my complete weakness.

Sorry about the ankle G-girl. Baby steps on the healing process.

Renewedhope - I love your competetive nature.

Ok, I ran...5 miles. I ran the first 5k without stopping. I was pretty proud of that. My body thanks me for the 2 days off. Kathy, I think i will take your 4 days on 1 day off approach, if it doesn't make me fall behind Whosya.

Everyone have a great week!! we are 1/3 through the challenge. Things will really start to heat up now!! LOL

3.1 miles. Ran 18 min. of it per the Couch-to-5K tape.

My goal in the challenge is to not come in last.

This program is great I'm only in week 3 but it's loads of fun so far. I'll admit the 3 min run had me a little concerned but I slowed down and stayed in good form, it was a breeze. During the 90 sec runs my pulse was up to 155 but on the 3 min run my pulse never got over 144, i think it's because I was running faster on the 90 sec run. I can't believe the effect weight loss and running has had on my resting heart rate. It used to run 80 to 85 and now it's down to 60 which the doc likes alot.

Welcome ninner! It really is a great program and this thread is filled with great support and motivation! Congrats on your success! Keep up the great work!

Georgia... how's the ankle??

The swelling has gone down quite a bit but it's still pretty bruised. My mom brought me a ankle wrap the other day. It feels pretty good when I wear that, but when I take it off it's a lot harder to walk. Originally, I was hoping to be running again by Friday...but I doubt it now .

Lyn... shake it off! Must be PMSing, or stressing... you're doing great, so one wrong meal is going to do nothing!

Ninner... Welcome! The C25K program is excellent. It turned me into a runner and I'm so much healthier than ever before. My diabetes is pretty much non existent, and my energy level is huge!! Keep up the great work.

Georgia... keep using the wrap when you need it and take it slow. Then when you're ready to start back, start slow!

MacMadam... I hope its just a light strain and you rest and heal up quick.

Renewed... 68km... OMG! You're amazing!

I don't feel all that well today, a little gassy and bloated (from having cabbage rolls too many days in a row! LOL). I don't feel like running, but I'm going to. I didn't run yesterday... too tired, so I can't miss 2 days in a row or I'd fall out of the challenge completely.

Well, I didn't run today. This evening around 4 I was walking out the door with DS to go for a run/walk and DH called to say he was coming home for an hour between work and teaching college, so I didn't go run then. Once he left it was cold and getting dark so we didn't go to the track. I just couldn't muster up enough that late to run on my blasted treadmill. Now, when Whosya posts I might make myself run, but I'm thinking maybe 2 runs tomorrow. Who knows. Maybe Whosya will take the night off. Something tells me he won't, but i can only hope.

Anyway, I haven't told you guys but we are getting ready to move. We have 48 acres of land and we are getting Water, septic, etc to the land and then will be putting a very small trailer house out there to live in untilwe build. Hoping to close on the land improvements in the next couple of weeks. I dread moving, but I can't wait to get out on our land. That is where we hunt and go ride 4 wheelers. We plan to get a horse and chickens and rabbits, etc. A mini farm. I can't wait. DH even promised he would help me plant a garden. YUMMY!!

Renewed... sounds like an amazing opportunity. How long will it take to build a house? I didn't run tonight either. I just don't feel very well, so chose to rest instead.

Congrats Renewed! That's great! I love animals, so the mini farm sounds wonderful to me. I grew up with horses. I used to love riding them. Anyway, I'm so happy for ya'll! When will ya'll start building?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
