Luluc... congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment. Its ok if your LBT obsession is replaced with lawyer stuff... just not your running! And be sure to pop in once in awhile to tell us how things are going.

Leslie... ooooh, nice Xmas present! I hope they get it for you, that would be great.

Ok, I'm getting set for my run... talk to you later. Today's plan is for 2 miles.

Luluc - yeah for school! I am a gluton of punishment too. I recieved my master's degree in nursing and thought it was so worth it. My thought: If it takes a person 5 years(or whaever) to graduate you have two choices. You can go to school and be a lawyer in 5 years, or you can not go to school and just be 5 years older!!

Kathy the outfit sounds like you all over good luck.

I have two running related things to share today:

1. My 1 hour interval training at run club today was excellent. I did my hard interval at 6.4 mph Record speed for me!

2. My run club buddies encouraged me to join them Oct 19th for the Columbus 1/2 marathon. I am going to do it. I will run what I can and walk the rest. There are all kinds of runners skill levels in the group. i told them to not wait for me. They said they would be at the finish line when I get there. I told them to bring flashlights cause it will probably be late! I am really going to do this. Can you believe it. 2 months ago I could hardly run 5 minutes straight.

I am not built like a runner, so this is more than I expected. it just goes to show you, a person can do anything if they put there mind to it.

Run Hard this week.

Say a prayer for me - my 1st interview is at 4:00 pm Eastern standard time. the 2nd one is at 5:00 pm. Then the 3rd panel interview is on Friday at 1:00.

I will be wearing Smoked gray suit tommorow and and Key lime green jacket on Friday. With my red hair, it should leave an impression.

cheers all, Lynn

Wow Lyn, great job with the running!! And congrats on the 1/2 marathon!! You are doing so good!! I'm praying about your job interviews.

Well, today was my run day and I decided to do it a little different today. Instead of running straight, I decided to do the full 5k, running and walking, to see what my time would be. I did it in 47:37, not too shabby for my first attempt. I just wanted to get a feel for how long and how far it was going to be. My energy levels aren't the best right now (TOM came with a vengeance today!!). Anyway, I was pretty pleased...

Lynn... Excellent running @ 6.4mph!!! And doing the 1/2 marathon! What a great thing, and to have your run club buddies there with you! I'm so proud of and for your accomplishments in running.

Your outfits sound really great. I'll be thinking of you at your interview times tomorrow!

My interview times tomorrow are first at 9:00am; second at 9:30 and third at 10:00. So send good wishes my way then (Eastern Standard Time) LOL

Georgia... Excellent! That is a great time! You're going to do great on your official Chili Run! How do you feel? I was stiff afterwards, so took some Ibuprofen.

I did my run today, but had to do it on the treadmill as it was pouring outside. Still struggle with the treadmill, but ran the 2 miles. My speed was 4.7 mph, which is the fastest I've done.

Thanks Kathy! I feel pretty exhaused but I'm okay. My knee did feel slightly stiff but it's fine now.

Great job on the run Kathy!! You're doing great!! Good luck with the interview, i'm praying for ya!!

Did anyone see the Biggest Loser tonight? Jerry the father on the yellow team went home tonight. Did you happen to see his "after pictures" OMG he has changed. He came to the ranch weighing 380, left at 360 and is now down to 310. He was on all types of medicine. The weight was slowly killing him. And now he is running 1 1/2 miles.

Here I am - I jumped off the wagon because I could not get past week 4 after my varicose vein surgery. Boy, he kicked my butt. I need to get in gear and get back on track.

I sort of like the idea of just adding an extra minute on each run. My lungs know the intervals help. I have much more lung power than ever before, but I have been at a stand still for quite some time. I am getting back on my horse this week (well, pony)

Yes, I saw it! I was so afraid that leaving the show would take him back to his old ways. I was soooo impressed with his after footage. He really worked hard.

I've been adding an extra minute to my runs and it's been working pretty well. My energy hasn't been there lately for my solid runs, so that's why I changed it up a bit today. I think our bodies just need a change every now and then.

Congrats on getting back on the horse!! It's gonna feel great!!

Lynn... Thank you! When I logged on and saw what you sent out during my interview, it really touched me! You are amazing!

I'm really happy with the interviews. The 3 people I met were all very nice, and I think I could really fit in well with that team. I know I have the skills to do the job well... so hope they agree! All I can do now is hope and pray. Hopefully they will decide on next steps soon!

Ok, the training plan today calls for Cross Training, so swimming, biking or eliptical. But I don't have access to any of those, so maybe I'll just run!

Remember to send prayers and good thoughts to Lynn at 4pm EST today!

Kathy - I pray they'll make a decision soon. I'm glad to hear your interview went well. I know you looked great too!

Renewed - I'm like you - No Music = No Running

Lyn - Good luck with your interview today! I too have a lime green jacket - love mine! I know you'll do great.

Sugar - Come on in - the Water is fine! I had to get back on the wagon too. I bet your legs look fabulous!

Georgia/Sugar - I watched Biggest Loser too! I have to admit I was really frustrated with the teams again. Hello - they are in the frickin grand canyon - they couldn't do more than walk around in a circle. I would have been angry if I were their trainers. Where were Bob and Jillian? They should have been climbing, using those balls other than lazy throws and those pully things (I have no technical name for them)...I was disappointed.

I watched too, and I agree. The 2 daughter/mom groups really get on my nerves. They seem kinda lazy. I was really proud for the yelow team dad. He has really worked hard. He looks 20 years younger. I think i like the orange team, but the verdict is still out!!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
