Did anyone have the last supper (dinner) before they started the pre-op diet?

I ate a few things I thought I would never be able to eat again. I don't have a problem eating most things though so I wouldn't have had to do that. I would suggest if you want something that you won't be able to eat a lot of, have a hamburger or something with bread. Bread is something hard to eat after banding.

Good Luck with your surgery, and let us know how things went for you.

I am still in the beginning stages of my lapband process and have already thought about a "farewell to food tour"! Try to keep telling myself this is not the right attitude to have to start a new life style but somehow I keep mapping out my restaurant tour.

I said goodbye to a whole slew of different foods. I did not want to feel deprived later on. Hey I found out that some of them I do not think I will actually miss all that much afterall. I will be a different person in respect to food after and this for me is just the important process.

Funny, I was thinking that very same thing today. Should I have a last meal or not, I probably will have a big plate of spaghetti, being Italian I will miss Pasta, even though I have already cut it out and haven't had any for about 6 weeks...my grandmother probably just turned in her grave!!!

I just want to eat at my favorite restaurant since I have no idea when I will get there again post op. We go there once a month or so since it is out of town. I always order the same thing, a petit filet mignon (5oz) with baked potato and salad. The filet is so tender and moist that it literally melts in your mouth. Yumm!

I've been saying goodbye to my favorite foods, and some not so favorite. Been eating a ton of salads, I know I will miss them alot!

I haven't been told about a pre-surgery diet other than nothing to eat or drink after midnight before the day of surgery.

Wonder if I'm missing anything?

Actually though, I'm cleaning out the kitchen and had planned to start getting used to the Protein shakes this coming week.

The night before my pre-op 2 week diet I ate a t-bone steak, mushroom and garlic bread. I figured it might be the last barbequed steak I'd ever eat. It was delicious. I also contemplated having Burger King, but opted for the steak.

I had two meals the two days before I started my pre-op diet that I thought I might never have again. Outback No-Rules Pasta and pizza. I don't miss the pasta, but I love pizza so much. Oh well...the pizza obviously never loved me back!

Yes I did also. I had the Pasta that I am going to miss, and the BBQ also. I gained back about 4 lbs because of it but I don't regret it now that I have been banded for 6 days and lost those 4 lbs plus 20 more on the liquid diet! :grouphug:

I had my last supper a few days before my surgery. I remember what I had suprisingly...a steak, some crab legs and a huge potato. LOL, I am glad I did because the whole steak thing is hard now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
