Salsa's Summer Surgery!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations karri!!!!!! You truly look incredible and your incision looks better than can be expected! Your doc did do an amazing job and wow, once that swelling is gone and the drains out I've no doubt you'll feel like a new woman!!!

Maybe ask your doc about phenergan? Non-habit forming, helps with both nausea and sleeping. I have to be careful to take half or less because it knocks me out, but it REALLY helps with nausea AND getting some rest.

Glad to hear your husband is such a big help, and that your anti gravity chair is doing the trick. Thanks for all the updates and posts and sending more prayers your way for a continued quick recovery.

Wow Salsa,

You look amazing! I can't believe the difference. I think you said the doc removed 4 1/2 pounds - it looks more like 20!!!

I wouldn't know from the pics that you are barely out of surgery. Congratulations!!!

I hope you can get some more rest and your recovery continues as well as it seems to have gone so far. I'm sure your level of physical fitness has to have been very helpful in the entire process.

Take care

Jacquie

Holy cow. You look GREAT! You don't even look swollen at all. Plus, you THIGHS look great. Did she yank them up with the Tummy Tuck? You must be thrilled with the results.

Thank you...but the thighs are all mine! I had sculpted legs at 250 pounds. I literally carried all of my weight in my stomach and my chin! The chin went away quicly...but the tummy had to take a bit more convincing.

I will post more tomorrow. I am swelling up like a beached whale right now I am going to go to bed.

Thank you for all of the compliments. I am feeling pretty good. There is not a lot of pain, though last night I did have to take some pain meds. The worst part of the incision are the ones on my hips. We had to move the binder up a little because it seemed to be digging right into those incisions and it hurt. Otherwise...I feel pretty dang good. I did finally get some sleep last night so that really helped.

BBK as for the brusing..I don't know how I got away with that one. Even the doc commented on the lack of bruising!

Salsa: So very happy for you! Congratulations! Everything looks great. I hope you'll keep posting pictures. I'm very interested in your anchor incision. I think I will need some revision, maybe right below the breasts like you're going to get. I so remember how hard showers were. I couldn't believe how much they wore me out! Totally exhausting and nauseating. Do you get the shakes too? It will get better, sweetie! Just hang in there and take your meds if you need them, you're not going to get addicted! Glad you slept better. Thanks for posting the pictures. You're doing great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
