So I had my third fill 06/02. I had been frustrated because the weight loss had been so slow. Then on Saturday I get on the scale and I am down ten pounds!!!! Finally some progress. Well today I hopped on the scale because we will be out of town tomorrow and guess what? I am up ten pounds. What the heck is that all about? I haven't changed any thing. Has this happened to any one else? I haven't had a BM since Sunday, but I can't image that there is 10 lbs of pooh in me. Any one have any ideas?

Is it possible you need a new scale? The body is such a funny thing. I can weigh at my doctor's office, come home and weigh and lose OR gain 5 lbs.

Try weighing once a week...drink some green tea (it's been know to 'set you free') or oatmeal. Drink more than 64 oz. of Water in a day and then weigh a day or so after that.

Other than that, it's hard to say. It's very frustrating to bounce up and down which is why I will only weigh once a week now...

Plus, I'm TRYING (not always succeeding) in paying MORE attention to how my clothes feel and LESS to the number on the scale.< /p>

Good luck!!

My daughter says the same thing about my scales...she can weigh one day and be such and such but the next...or even later that day be off 10 pounds.

But when I get on the scales, it's constant...no waivering but a pound or two throughout the day.

Not that you don't know how to weigh yourself...you most certainly do...but a slight shift in your weight from one leg to another...or even a toe can throw the results off.

I gain about 2-3 pounds in a week when I don't go to the bathroom.

Get new scales...I have a digital one that you tap to turn on...then wait til it zeros out...then step on.

Congrats on your weightloss...you are doing great!

This is completely normal. You lose and gain sometimes based on how much or little fluids you've had, or whether or not you're retaining Water, or if you ate carbs or any of a hundred other reasons. I've actually weighed in the morning and then again the same evening and lost/gained as much as 5 or 6 lbs. Don't let it freak you out. Do a little bit of exercise, drink plenty of Water and forget about it. Also, weighing every day will screw with your brain! Only once a week - pick the same day, same time and you'll get better results. Also, you should try a new scale if this one is older or analog. Digital is best.

Best,

Barbara

I agree with the others ... weigh only once a week or you will drive yourself crazy. I think we've all learned by experience. And trust me, i know how depressing it can be when you gain a few pounds .. and very discouraging. Keep up the good work .. it will come off eventually. My weight loss has also been slow but as long as it keeps coming off .. you will eventually make it!

I had my first fill last week and at first I thought there was no difference, then a few days later I dropped like 4 lbs! Then I became constipated for a few days and it was right back on. Finally after I was able to go to the bathroom a couple times regularly, I get on the scale and I'm back down the 4 lbs....I thought it was odd too

Try not to be so obsessed on the numbers. I too weight myself a couple times a week and 9-10 times I get off the scale pissed off!!!

But then I will put a pair of jeans on and they feel even looser then before???? I try to not look at the numbers as much as how much as how the cloths look very different on me. The stomach rolls are down and my waist is a lot smaller. Try to do the glass is half full thing to help you not get so frustrated and keep focus on the prize!!!! A normal BMI and maitaining it for life!!!!! We can beat this obesity and kick it right in the crotch!!!!!! (RIght Bandsters!!!) Can I get an AMEN!!!

AMEN VIKKI!!!! We can do this. I am only 2 weeks post op but I have figured out in order to keep my sanity I need to keep of the scale. So, I have'nt weighed myself since beginning of the month. My clothes is a good indicator where I am at with weight loss. Good luck and keep the faith.

Thanks for all of the replies and encouraging words. As for the scale, I bought it just a couple months ago and it was pretty pricey. So I don't think it's the scale. I gonna really push my Water and go buy the stool softener my doc recommended.

I am vowing not to step on the scale until next Friday. Please hold me to it!

In answer to the question, can poo weigh that much??? If you haven't gone in several days..... YES IT CAN. that is why regular elimination is so important.

I only weight in the morning, the minute I get out of bed. I don't weight at other times because it fluctuates throughout the day depending on how much Water I drank, what I ate for lunch, if it was salty and I retained Water, yadda, yadda, yadda. So I stick to when I get up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
