Just got my surgery date - July 2nd! Who else is getting in July?

Hi, I think I'm probably the last. My surgery is set for July 31st in Parker, Colorado. My name is Sandy and would love to hear from anyone about their experience.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS DAY...:thumbup:

I'm so excited to have found this thread. I'm super excited about finally having a date - the 16th. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and I'm going crazy with anticipation. My doctor (Veninga in Carrollton, TX) has me on Optifast. Anyone else been on that? Also, have you guys started taking the daily multivitamin already? Any suggestions on which one is best?

July16th for me too. I started my liquid diet today......Bariatric Advantage.....not too bad. I made up the vanilla and added sugar free orange syrup that is used for lattes. It tastes pretty good. I haven't started the vitamin yet. I have Bariatric Advantage vitamin in lemon and watermelon....yum!

Congradulations to everyone banded the 1st and the 2nd!!!!! Five days to go for me. It's great to be part of the July Stars!

I am getting banded July 8th! I hate this pre-op diet though! Especially over July 4th weekend!

At least it's not Thanksgiving! (Trying hard to get a good attitude here.)

It does stink to have to do the liquids this weekend! Hang in there and good luck!

The fourth day it gets so much easier. So it won't bother you too bad. Today is day 6 for the liquids. Gets so easy just another way of life. YOu do think of food though and think of your old habits. Have the big picture in your head and it will help!

My surgery is tomorrow - JULY 3rd. I'm worried about the size of my liver and the doctor not being able to do it laproscopically. I asked the clinic yesterday if the doctor will do an "open surgery" if my liver was too big but she said she has never heard that he does an open surgery. Sure hope that my cheating during the three week OPTIFAST stage doesn't prevent me from getting the operation. I have a BMI of 54 so I am pretty obese but I have lost 19 or so pounds so surely some of the fat must have come off the liver. I hope to be posting "on the other side" of bandster land on July 4th and have something else to celebrate!
