Phyl, so good to hear Earl is doing so well. Sorry about your problems with Uncle. My Aunt hit her roommate when I was in charge of her. We got her on antidepressants and she settled down. I hope your uncle got the message. He could really get hurt.

Lori, ?????? what is it? Boy or Girl????

My sister said after his tirade, he settled down and commented that their enforcement of the rule not to cross the highway would probably save his life! My concern is that every time he is challenged about anything, he flips out. So if this type of behavior continues.... that could possibly get them kicked out! I'm not sure he's capable of self control at his age. He's always gotten away with these temper tantrums! Can you guess he was the youngest of seven???? My Dad always said he was "spoiled"! He and my Dad did not get along at all! Dad probably rolled over in his grave when he moved in with Mom!! LOL

Good Evening Gang

Linda - My Sis isn't doing well - talked to niece this afternoon - she is at end stage of her COPD and she's scared - death isn't knocking right now - but I guess it could be soon 6 mos to 1yr..

Niece said give her another day and then call - she's quite emotional right now (which is very unlike her) I guess last time she was in the hospital she was ready to die - but not now..

My Sis will be 62 11/28..

Went and saw Andrew afterwork - he was at work - needed a hug = put 2 candy bars in my cart - but took them out ;0) food isn't going to help..

Arlene - I had a fill yesterday. She mentioned she could tell I needed it, b/c "it didn't push back". That seems to confirm to slow insertion of Fluid in the band that you mentioned.

Eva - you were missed. Glad you are safely home.

Phyl - hope I'm not stubborn like your uncle - but bet I will be. Go glad Earl is doing better. And you get a Pass on stress eating for the day. Now back on plan.

Lori - can't wait to see the sex of baby. Good luck with family visit.

Karen - thanks for the perfect tips for the day. Really hit the target for my Kansas City drama today.

Janet - so sorry to hear about your sis. And congrats on putting the candy back - you are right, it won't help.

Thank you for sharing these two thoughts together. All of us have used food to solve stress. We need you to remind us that, even after success, that old habit tries to reappear. Thank you for being so open.

Joyce

Janet.........so sorry to hear your sis is so ill. You have really had trial and tribulation with family the last two years. HUGS and PRAYERS for you and sis.

Joyce......yeah, that's what she said..."push back". I didn't make an appt today. I probably will make one next week, but that means it may be December before I get in.

Linda.....thanks for the fly by...How is Katie?

Julie.....hope you had a great B-day. Knowing you.....you were decorating the wedding cake. It is almost here. Can't wait to see a pic.

Janet - Sorry to hear about your sister. Be strong, she will need your strenght to help calm her. You are right, food won't help. Unfortunately, I think all of here have turned to food in time of stress. Thanks for the reminder that it doesn't really help. I am glad you have Andrew to hug.15_10_6.gif

Hi all~

Fly by again. DH is on his flight coming home. He is somewhere over the Baltic Sea- flight from Damascus to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Atlanta this time. (there was an 8 hr layover and he was able to see 3rd stepbrother at airport for lunch! This was the only sibling that didn't make the reunion.) 25 hr trip. I will take Nels to bus and then hop on highway to Ft Lauderdale. 80 miles but morning traffic. He might have to wait a bit till I get there. I am ready to hug his neck. : ) IF you don't hear from me for a couple days, don't worry. wink wink.

Janet~ hugs. Thinking of you.

peasout.. Laura

Happy Birthday Julie. You are probably so busy right now you won't even get to enjoy your special day, but well wishes are heading your way!!

Arlene, so glad to hear you are doing so well. Exercising regularly is so helpful and I don't know why we resist doing it. I know I've missed some stuff because I didn't go back and read everything, but how's the new GB and DD?

Joyce, so you got a fill? How are you doing? So you want to see Lori's grandbaby's sex? I just about laughed myself off the chair....sorry, I know what you mean, but it just looked funny in writing...yes, I do have a twisted mind.

Janet, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. COPD isn't pretty and I bet she is scared. I hope she and you can find some peace. You are right, food isn't going to help and you have presence of mind to know that.

Phyl, what happened to Earl? I missed that part. Whatever it was, I'm glad he is doing better.

Linda, is your SD still in the hospital? Do you have your GD again?

Apples, I'd love to see a picture of you in your little pink hat and covered in corn dust. It's a good thing you love this time of year because you sure work your back side off.

Jodi, good luck on your interview.

Laura, YIPEE, you get your DH back soon. I bet you did miss him and he missed you and Nelson. Glad the job is going well.

Hello to everyone I've missed.

So my first day home and I've been so busy, I haven't had time to check the thread. Had a dentist appointment, had to shop for groceries (didn't have any fresh anything), a friend called to talk about a job, my sister texted and wants me and the other sister to move all her stuff out of her house now.

Gee what happened to retirement?

Argentina was great. I walked miles and saw so much stuff. We did the Evita tour (went to Palace Rosario, the grave site at Recoleta, and to her museum which had many photos and a lot of her clothes). We started the trip in Bariloche which is their ski area with many many many lakes. It was beautiful. We drove across the border to Chile and had lunch there. Then we spent a week in Buenos Aries. Lots of walking, taxi rides, eating wonderful beef, drinking limoncello and malbec wine. We drove out to an estancia and had a great conversation with a goucho. Visited an amazing cathedral and drank more limoncello. Oh, there was shopping involved. I bought two new leather purses. One small black bag and another large brown leather bag. I'll take pictures and post them later. Most of the other stuff was small trinkets. Oh, did I mention the tango? We saw people doing the tango in the streets. We also went to the oldest ballroom in BA and watched a bunch of old people doing the tango. It was wonderful. We also went to Uruguay to a little town called Colonia. After BA (Buenos Aries) we went to Iguazu. The pictures can't do it justice. There was an amazing amount of Water. I did a jet boat ride that took you very close in to the falls and got soaked. It took me all day to dry out, but it was worth it. Saw tucans flying around the trees and coati's begging. There were herds of coati's and they didn't run away from the cameras. I got to fly home 1st class (oh my that was very nice). I used mileage points to do that and it was worth it. I was able to catch an earlier flight to Dallas instead of Miami and then caught another early flight to Tucson. I was home by 11am. That was really nice too.

I'll post a few pictures on another post.

Okay, later ladies, my brain if fried again. Must have been all the limoncello and wine.

Eva

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
