I went to my doctor today and he told me that I was not supposed to sleep on my side the first week after lap band surgery.
My doctor uses mesh to cover the port to help the tissue grow over it and if you sleep on your side both you and your port are slanted and the port might become tilted.
If your doctor uses mesh to cover the port site, you are NOT supposed to sleep on your side for the first week.
No one mentioned that to me in my doctor's office, so I wanted to pass this on to everyone who will soon be banded.
Lot of good that info does for me on day 6 of my first week, but hopefully I can let other people know! :scared2:
