How Many Pounds Did you loose in the 1st 4 weeks?

Hello! I have my dr consult next week and was just curious as to how many pounds you were able to loose that first 4 weeks after having the Lap-band procedure? And the next 4 weeks after that? I just want to keep my expectation realistic. Any response will be appreciated. :crying:

Greetings I was banded on 4/23 & I weighed in 4 weeks later down 31 lbs. Most of that was the 1st week on the clear liquids. Good luck.

WOW! I think 30+ pounds sounds like a LOT. I have lost 11 pounds in the first two weeks. But I was NOT on clear liquids...I lost 9 on preop for a total of 20 in four weeks.

I lost 35 pounds in the first four weeks. But I have exercised a lot. I use the stationary bike and the illiptical machine. My husband and I also fast week a lot.

My advice, for what its worth, is not to expect anything :-)

Everyone is different - depends on how much you have to lose, how active you are, how tall you are, what your metabolism is doing, any medical issues you may have, how old you are, etc, etc. You can't compare your own experience to others.

I see so many posts on here from people who are disappointed, because their expectations are based on other's experiences.

I agree with the last post also..... U really don't know what would be normal for you becasue everyone's activity level is not the same, and their eating is not the same either so just wing it and as long as you follow what your dr said im sure u will be suprised.....

My Four Weeks Will Be May 30 ...i Have Lost Since April 30 A Total Of 16.8 Pounds But A Total Of 32 Pounds Since April 7 With Pre Op

I am 10 days post op and have lost 1lb. Full liquid about 500 calories a day

Thanks to everyone for responding! I'm keeping an open mind and keeping my fingers crossed for the best. Wish me luck on my dr consult tomorrow morning.

It will be 4 weeks this Friday for me. I've lost 16lbs counting the two weeks pre-op. I've been holding my 16lbs lost for over a week now; probably because I'm in between my post op healing period and 1st fill time and I have been eating a little more. I expected that though. I know I'll pick up losing again once I have my first fill and get back to more restriction. I also realize that that equates to 4lbs a week, and for a woman that's a pretty great loss. It's really hard for me to lose - I'm post menopausal and am low thyroid so I have that working against me. Like everyone has said, everyone is different. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do, if you slip up just get back on the wagon and keep going. The weight will come off. Good luck to you.
