I dont have back pain where the port is...but it is where the greatest amount of pain comes from for me... I am still babying that area....I am scared to death of something happening to the port and then having to be reopened..... I found that driving today REALLY aggrivated the port area..... I guess I have to figure out how to make that better because I have to drive every day to take my son to summer school.....

I took tylenol extra strength during the day today... I usually only take it at night but I needed it today.... I think I will start taking it three times a day to stay on top of the port pain...

I am still doing good.... I related this surgery to having my gall bladder out... and that was TONS worse then this... so maybe that is why I am not surprised by the pain/recoop time.....

I hope you start feeling better.....

I am still just having shakes and one cup of broth a day..... and 70+ounces of Water... My appt is on the 5th... then I can go to full liquids! yeah....

This is my first May 2008 post-I was banded 5/21/08. My port area started feeling "strange" yesterday - a pulling feeling & uncomfortable. I am waiting to talk to the surgeon as I have a follow-up 5/29 with him. I hope my port & band have stayed put. I'm thinking maybe I'm feeling it more because I'm not so swollen.

My port starting hurting yesterday too! Isnt that curious that both of us noticed it more yesterday.... I took the tylenol twice yesterday and today it is feeling a bit better....The Doctor's office called me yesterday and said I would feel a good amount of pain there for a bit more due to the fact that she stitched the port into my muscle....

How are you feeling this morning? any better?

I had my best nights sleep so far last night..... I was able to sleep on my side... YEA!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
