Yep June 4th !!!!

Ok, I know it's stupid, but I have never been very superstitious, but when I got my date, I was so excited. But I just realized this past week that it's Friday the 13th. My husband is getting his surgery this friday on the 6th and he's happy as heck. But I can't help but think that I need to change my date. I know that will probably push back the surgery maybe even a month. Give me some advice, should I change my date, or just push through this feeling that I am having.:confused2: My husband says for me to do whatever I want, but he won't even change dates with me, which is making me worry more.

What do you think?

DOnt worry about it. Friday the 13th is nothing more than a superstition. Focus on why you are doing this and nothing else. I know I will since my surgery date is the 13th also! Good luck!!

My date is also the 13th....I am not worried, it all started when the templars got killed on that date all over Europe...maybe knowing the origins will help!

I think it will be fine!

Hi I'm new also to this site, My band date id june 10th

Congrats June Bandsters! I'm so excited to be joining the ranks this month (19th). I'm also looking forward to sharing the journey together. It's helped so much to read what others are going through and to get tips and suggestions, but most of all ENCOURAGEMENT!

Personally, I think superstitions only have the power you give them. To me it's just another date and therefore it has no power over me. Hey, I had my first date with my husband on a Friday the 13th, 34 years ago. I always call it my lucky day!

Thirteen is a baker's dozen -- just one more of a good thing.

I am on my preop diet and am counting down the days. I get banded on June 10th up to this point I was not really nervous and just somewhat excited but now I am getting butterflies from being nervous and excited. How is everyone else feeling?

I am just realizing how much food means to me. I can't wait to eat to live instead of living to eat! Agree?

I'm pretty lucky because, as far as I know, I don't have a pre-op liquid diet. I just have to eat the regular pre-op diet...1200 calories, protein, vegetables, etc. Kaiser required that I lose so many pounds to see the surgeon, which I did, then gave me the surgery date. So as long as I continue to lose, I'm ok.

God is in control not the date Be glad your getting it done I was born on friday the 13th

I hope this goes right. This is my first post. I will be banded on Friday June 13th. Scary, I know. I'm not too superstitious though. I think everything will be fine. I'm starting to get really nervous. I've had enough time to be excited, now it's just the nerves, lol. Anyway, if anyone has any advice on how to relax a little it would certainly be appreciated.

Ok, so I just got home from my nutrition class & GNC. WOW!!! I spent over $100 on supplements & protein powder!!!! I wasn't too shocked, at the initial consultation they told the class that we would spend somewhere around $60 a month on supplements. I just have to also have the protein powder for the next 6-8 weeks.

I was actually glad when they said we need to have the protein drinks too. I was thinking how am I going to survive on broth for the next two weeks pre-op & then 4 weeks post-op??? Thankfully I get to have the protein drinks!

I am so excited!! I am not at all nervous, I don't think I will be either. I have had my tonsils out, 2 C-sections and a hysterectomy. This should be a walk in the park!!! I know I will be sore, but I am thinking positive. It will be a new beginning for the rest of my slim again life!!!
