Well, I haven’t been back to write for a while huh. I know, I am bad, but I have been dealing with this depression, in addition to a lot of school work. First, I am on my fourth week of my Master’s course. Yes, I know, I must be crazy, BUT, I know that in order for me to be able to pick and choose jobs, especially better paying ones, I need to get my CPA. So, I began again my Masters in Accounting and Financial Management via Online courses through the Keller Graduate School of Management school via Devry University. I am doing ok. The class is kicking my butt now, but I am enjoying it. I got my first fill on July 25. It was a little painful, but what I don’t get is why all of a sudden I am hungrier than ever. Once in a while this week, I found a very small restriction but BOY AM I HUNGRY. I am controlling myself a lot and I am drinking a lot of water. What to do – what to do!!! I want to start working out again. It gets a little hard, but I know my depression goes away when I do work out. Why depressed? I hate my job. Without going into details, I hate my job. I am looking and looking and looking and nothing yet. Did I say I hate my job!!! Anyway, hope you are all doing well!!! BTW – I am down to 245lbs. Officially lost 40lbs all together… Well, I haven’t been back to write for a while huh. I know, I am bad, but I have been dealing with this depression, in addition to a lot of school work.

  5. Hi JeffR, My name is Paty and I am getting my band on Monday, June 9th. Please - let's email / chat on this. I am on my 4th week of the pre-op liquid diet and even though I have lost about 14lbs and feel better, I am CONSTANTLY thinking about food. I hope you are doing well. Take care, Paty
  6. :pray2:Hello! I will be praying for a quick approval. Much luck! Paty:thumbup:
  7. Here is my post op diet: Day 1-7 - Clear Liquids Only Day 8-28: Full Liquid Diet (Start chewable multivitamin) Day 29-42: Soft Diet which I can add mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soft fish, low fat cottage cheese, well cooked veggies Hope this helps!
  8. Hi!, I just read your post and it moved me. Listen, I thank God every day that my family (mom, dad, brother) are so happy and supportive on my upcoming surgery. They give me all the positive feedback and it is great. But through this journey, I have learned who are my true friends. Those people that I thought were my "friends" really couldn't understand what I was doing. With this, please keep in mind, that you have to do what you need to do to be healthier both physically and mentally. Please keep your head up high and make sure the doctor is good to do this. Take care! Paty
  9. OMG! Just love this list. Like if I said it from my head! Hope all is well!!
  10. You said a mouthful. I am glad I haven't cheated again. I did notice that I drinking a lot more water, becuase I am actually thirsty. As well, be careful. I think because I am only doing a liquid protein diet, my immune system isn't that strong and now I am under the weather. It has been cold in NYC. Take care of you! Paty
  11. Hi Mandi Jo, Yes - please be careful with the food. I was doing really great the first 4 days, then I cheat with a plate of lo mein. Well it landed like a pile of lead in my stomach. I couldn't sleep all night. I guess after a small time - your stomach gets used to it. I plan not to feel that way again. Hope you are doing well!! Take care! Paty

Hi, I don't know why doctors are different here in the US vs non U.S. My cousin and uncle both got the lapband done in Peru. They were never on any pre-op diet and there wasn't any post op diet. They were allowed to drink and eat since day one after the operation. They have been lucky and lost about 90lbs each, but I do see them drink and eat. They complain that they do gain weight when they overboard, but they were never told not to drink and eat at the same time.... They also have never gotten a fill.....
  13. Hi JimmyJames, I am in the same boat as you. I am on my 7th day on the liquid Protein diet. I can understand your situation. I won't be an angel and say that I didn't cheat - I did, but let me tell you. After drinking these drinks and on Saturday night cheating with a plate of lo-mein, I couldn't sleep that night. It felt like a bomb had landed. I will tell you, drink a lot of Water which helps the hunger. Try not to think about it too. If you need any support or to talk - give me a shout....we can talk thru email..
  14. Hi all, my parents ordered it for me as a Mother's Day gift. I can't wait to get it. If you would like a preview, go to www.wiifit.com Their website gets updated daily and the great thing is the more points you accumulated the more programs gets released.
  15. Hi Crystal, If you are getting an iPod, I can also suggest in getting some music Podcasts that are free. For example, I get PodRunner and Dance Department. They release weekly podcast of about an hour with good music. Hope this helps!
  16. I am getting the same message when I try to go to the blog. Is there a way to report this to the website administrator?

  20. Hey don't give up. I know it is hard. Trust me, I am thinking of food too, but right now, the ability to walk with no pain, and to look good is overpowering this need over food. Breath, drink water and count on me if you need some help.... Paty

Well, the pre-op meeting went well. Officially I am weighing 281.2lbs. I had my last hurrah this past weekend for Mother's Day and didn't quite have what I really wanted but as the french say "C'est la vie". Today, I am starting the liquid protein diet. Dr. Washington told me to have 5 drinks per day, which is better than the 3 stated in the paperwork. The morning was fine and I am drinking water. I did have one small black coffee with 1 splenda vs my usual large coffee with half and half and 5 splendas. It went ok. I am cold though, freezing. Doesn't help that the air conditioning in the building I work in is on super high...ha ha ha... Anyway, I hope to weigh myself at home and hope to get my measurements tonight and post it tomorrow. I hope to lose at least 20 lbs before the operation on June 9th, though Dr. Washington didn't give me a determination on how much I should be losing between now and then. I just want no complications. Oh by the way, he is so sweet. I asked if I could go home that same day, since my daughter would really freak out by not being home (she did one time on a business trip) and he changed it to 7:30am vs 2:30pm. :thumbs_up:I am a happy camper!!! See you tomorrow!
