TLBC peeps- question for you

Recommended Posts

The balance owing is usually 2 weeks prior to surgery not 2 days. Are you sure that it was in fact 2 days prior to surgery since that is unheard of. They usually give you 2 weeks because if for any reason, you didn't pay up, then they could schedule someone else for that spot. 2 days prior to surgery doesn't seem right to me so perhaps you need to get this clarified.

2 days is definately what I worked out with Kathy. They have my deposit.

Same thing happened with me, I got a call from accounting telling me I owed the full balance, which was NOT what I worked out with Kathy. I called in a panic, and Kathy fixed it right away. Have they charged it? Legally you have to give permission, yes.

I'd just give them a call and by the sounds of it, they will rectify it. It's probably usually 2 weeks and that's why the accounting dept. would be looking for it now but if you had made other arrangements, they may not have known or did not see the note that you had different payment arrangements. I had to give my deposit the day I booked and then balance in full was due 2 weeks prior to surgery. That is usually the norm but if special arrangements are made, I'm sure they will honor them if you contact them.

Were you able to fix it?

Yes, Kathy emailed me & apologized for the phone call.

She has given me the contact info for the person to call to arrange payment 2 days before.

LOL Marivan: Good thinks happening all the time, but with the web it is usually the bad times that make the posts. People want answers to their problems which overshadow any nice things.

However, nice things for me is consistant weight loss of 1/2 lb per week, reduction in medications, increased activity with joint issues being reduced. I am now able to sit in an airplane seat with the seat belt done up without the aid of an extendor. Great mental outlook give or take a bit of anxiety due to upcoming dental surgery.

Boring isn't it. I think I would rather hear peoples problems then I won't feel like I am alone when I experience them. And I know I will as most issues such as vomiting, exercising, slow weight loss, medications etc are experienced by all.

As for early collection of bills, I am surprised because I didn't pay up until I arrived on my day of surgery. Guess the policy changed.:confused2:

Anyone know why & when the cost went from $16,000 to $18,000?

Not really, but I suspect it was early this year. That is when I started seeing posts on the subject.

I was banded April 25 and I paid 16,000.

Where do you live?

I should add that I was originally going to be be banded in Oct, but couldn't get all the cash, so I ended up not booking then. I called on April 11 to go ahead with booking, because I had the money at that point, and was banded exactly two weeks later.

I don't know if it was because of getting info in Oct that I got 16 rather then 18.

I also want to clarify something..even though I am a little irritated about the phone thing, I am 110% glad I went with TLBC. Dr. Yau was fabulous and everything was very smooth and stress free.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
