What about popcorn??

I just went to the circus and thought, hmmm.....should I or shouldn't I! I never heard one way or the other about regular popcorn. I mean, I wouldn't have had the whole container, just a few bites, but I thought I'd better not. Has anyone ever heard whether or not to eat regular popcorn (as opposed to the kernel less kind)? Just wondering for the future! Bye the way, if you're wondering, I didn't ! But I did have just a few tastes of cotton candy. Just a little bit! Nothing to punish myself over!

Oh- I wish it were a problem. My band lets the following things through with no stoping or fighting back:

1) popcorn

2) RECE Peanut Butter CUPS ( THOUGH i ONLY EAT A MINI)

3) ANY TYPE OF CHOCLATE (AS LONG AS NOT CAKE OR DOUGHNUT)

4) ICE CREAM (BUT NOT WITH CAKE)

5) ICINING

I thank the lord I usually don';'t keep much of that around house on any regular basis. But catch me at the wrong time of the month and I'll eat it all!!!

I went to the movies last night and thought, okay I've given up Diet Coke (which was hard enought!) I have to atleast have a bit of popcorn!!! I tried a few bites and everything was fine! It was amazing though that before banding I could down a whole medium by myself, and last night I had 4 or 5 bites and didn't want anymore!! I had my first fill last week and I really haven't come across anything that I can't eat. I haven't eaten bread or Pasta strickly from will power, but probably could if I tried!! I've never heard of kernel-less popcorn? ? Is it better for you?

Isn't it funny how all the foods that make you fat, go through the band sooo easily!!!!

But the healthy stuff (fish of any kind, most veggies and fresh fruit) are a problem. At least for me they are. The junk goes right through - no problem!!!! (SIGH) But then, I'm feeling discouraged today so pay me no attention. Just throwing a "pity party" is all.

I have heard of kernal-less popcorn. check the grocery store next time you are there. People who I know who have eaten it usually have irritated bowel or some other digestive problems.

There's a whole other thread about popcorn recently started, I'll try and find it and bump it so it shows up under new threads.

I eat popcorn as a treat all the time. I was surprised to find it on the don't eat list. I have 8cc in my band.

I have been told people have problems. I tried it last week for the first time and was fine. The popcorn pops are in the chip isle in the grocery store about 170 calories for 1 cup. Again something that "slides" right through. I limit that because of the salt.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
