PBing vs. Vomiting

Recommended Posts

wow - did you really more than double your c's ? that does not sound normal, especially if you were having no problems losing weight. are you sur eyou didn't go from 1.3 to 1.8 (adding .5cc) ? That would make more sense. Either way, sounds like you need to take some out.

I've not been back online because I get depressed when everyone seems to lose weight and I haven't lost one lb in 10 months. I have been eating badly and not exercising, so I know it is my own fault. I eat candy because it goes down much better than food. I cannot eat bread or meat, and I miss those really badly. I am having a knee replacement in 4 days, so I really have to get it into gear and as soon as I can, start walking and exercising. I know that will be the answer, but I have trouble doing the right thing .

I have not had a fill in 11 months because the doctor says he wants me to do better by myself. I've only lost 40 pounds. I had the banding in January 2005, and lost the weight all in that year.

I'm sorry you are having this difficult struggle, Carolb. Perhaps you could just choose one thing to work on. Drinking the Water, or exchanging the candy for sugar free. I would get all of the unhealthy food out of the house for a while. Hang in there, you can do it.

I know it can be very frustrating. Do you think you need a fill. I understand from others that if you're filled properly you're not hungary. I know what it is to be hungary. Hang in there and good luck, don't be so hard on yourself. We all go through this

Carolb,

I am very sorry you are struggling as well. If you can not eat meat or more solid foods and are sticking to simple things that go through your pouch easy, another fill may not address the problem. You have to be able to get meat and other solids down (carefully chewed, eaten slowly, etc.) in order for the pouch to work for you. Otherwise you will remain hungry. Perhaps you can try carefully reintroducing more solid Proteins. If they will not work for you without vomiting, perhaps you may even need a slight unfill to get your pouch realigned with your needs.

Sugary carbs like candy may even be kicking your hunger into higher gear. Specially if they move through the pouch easily. Everyone is different. However, for me I had to learn to stay away from processed carbs and only eat fruits, vegetables or low sugar yogurt, etc. In my system, if I eat something like a small piece of cake, I know that for some reason in another hour or so I will be looking for more. Eating any bad carbs triggers impulses and urges for me to seek more and the only way to control it was to avoid those foods.

Take it one step at a time. Maybe today you will say, I will not eat any candy today and I will worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Perhaps you can replace it with a Protein that your body can handle. Are you getting plenty of Water . . . perhaps increasing Water intake will help as well. Sometimes big changes come wrapped up in very small daily decisions.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
