I think something is hung

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill last Thursday, 2 cc's, Friday I was fine. Sat morning I took a FLintsones Vitamin and didnt chew it and I think it is hung up. Ever since then eating is VERY painful and I have been throwing my food back up, at least some of it. I can pass Water through slowly.

Be alarmed or let the vitamin desolve?

Thanks guys, BTW I am down 22 lbs.

80 more to go.

David

David, I would assume that the Vitamin would have dissolved by now, I think that with the both the pain and the throwing up I would call my doc and discuss with them, could be that the fill is too much right now even though it is only 2 cc's.

hope everything is ok, congratulations on the 22 down!!

i think not chewing that flintstone got you irritated. probably should do fluids for a few days. but of course check with your doc.

I would agree. The Vitamin should be long gone. Some people find that it takes a day or two for a fill to "kick in" It might be fine for a day or two but then you find that you are just too tight. You may need a slight unfill.

I read a lot about others who have had fills that were too tight and waited it out so that it might open up a little. It seems like it doesnt always open up more and if you stay too tight for too long you might risk the health of your band.

Definitely call your doctor. Best of luck to you. Congratulations on the 22 as well

David, I had my first fill Thursday, and I was told that if I throw up at all to revert to liquids for a couple of days to reduce the swelling and irritation around the band that results from a PB. Also, be sure to let the doctor's office know what happened when you next go in. Those were the instructions from my doctor... you should follow whatever your doctor has told you.

Why would you not chew the vitamin. One of the main rules for the band is to chew, chew, chew. Second rule is to crush your medicine or try to get it in a liquid form. You really need to go on liquids and consult your Doctor. Whatever you do always chew chew chew. If you need a pill crusher check your local Dollar store as that is where I purchased mine and it's works good. Best of Luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
