I had a cat named Gibson. I named him Gibson because he was the bravest of the kittens so his name morphed from Braveheart to Mel Gibson to plain old Gibson. Later I found out Gibson was a girl so the name choice was inappropriate all around! Anyway, I added the Gibson Girl as my avatar so people would know I was a girl and not make the same mistake I made with my cat. :smile2:

Mine is easy. I'm Jaime and I'm from St. Louis. Usually I add my birthday (9-20) to the end of my user id on things, but I wanted to change it up a little, especially since 9/20 will not come ever again. I am staying 29 forever. :smile2:

In my twenties myself and several college dropout types started a kind of non college frat/rodeo team/snowboarding team named Team Tripod after a dumb old joke and it stuck. We are all still close friends all these years later although the name is a little embarrassing now.I was born in 1965 hence the 65.

Well the first bit is obvious. The numbers and letters are because I have 4 boys and 1 girl. 4b1g. And this is my username EVERYWHERE. Dh says I just did that so I wouldn't have to have anymore babies (he still wanted one lol).

Sorry, can't have one, will screw up username.

It's the first part of our family e-mail address. Wilds is our last name - the JNB stands for Jason 'n Becca (my hubby and I).

I use it as my user name for everything - that way I only have to remember different passwords and not 2 different things for everything I use.

This is so interesting!

See Angie, I've been calling you Angie For Big in my head now for months and had no clue what that meant. Now I know I've got it all wrong!

tripod, I um, er...think I know the dumb old joke about your frat's name. I thought you were either a photographer or um, ....yeah. :smile2::tongue:

Jaime, I'm 34 and I've never felt better, even when I was 21. Once you get over the shock of the nice round 3-0 - you'll see it was worth the transition. Besides, haven't you heard? 30 is the new 20! :rolleyes2:

My username started as "Big Marathoner", but now that I've lost 30 pounds I changed it to "marathinner". It's an homage to the marathon I ran last year and the one I'm about to start training for in a month!!

Besides projecting an air of openness and friendliness, Bandpal is an anagram for Lapband. Cute idea for a thread!

Mine is from a nickname I acquired as a kid. When I was a baby crawling around, my big sister (of 2 years of age) kept calling me a "turtle" but it was coming out "turler". My Dad kept it going and here it is!

Cool thread!

Gibson, you do come up with the greatest thread topics, and always keep things interesting here! :smile2:

I guess my name choice is a little different, lol . . . I was listening to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody ("old" rock 'n roll to the end baby!) at the time I was signing up for Lap-Band Talk . . . then I looked up the word Rhapsody. It means a state of enthusiastic expression, elated bliss, and ecstasy . . . all of which I'm gonna feel if I ever reach my goal weight :rolleyes2: (and honestly I'm feeling it now as I continue to lose weight, however slowly!). I'm enthusiastic about getting this lap-band and changing my life, so I felt Rhapsody was a good name choice! I added the heart character just for fun.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
