Hi Kim, welcome.

I am also in Ct. just starting the process. Got my package from the group I am going to use. I also have Anthem State Bluecare POS for state employees. I have requested information from them but haven't gotten it yet. Yes they do cover WLS bands and the others. Good luck when I find out something I'll let you know

Anthem Covered Mine In 2006 But They No Longer Cover It As A Coworker Of Mine Found Out The Other Day. We Are In Mass. Hopefully For You Things Are Different In Either State. Good Luck

As with any big insurance company, it depends on your policy. A previous poster said Anthem no longer covered it, but I just finished looking at my policy details and it is covered. It just depends on your policy. You can log onto the anthem website at Health Insurance and Medical Insurance from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) and sign up for your account. You'll need your subscriber number handy to sign up. Once you're logged in, you can access all of your plan details, mine included coverage for the bariatrics and such. My plan also covers travel expenses! That's not to say that either of us will be approved, but your policy may cover it.

True, true! I have Anthem and was approved just as any others on here have been. Check your specific policy.

True....Anthem just approved me last week. Many others on here have recently been approved with Anthem, also. Check your specific policy. Good luck!

Hi All, Like everyone has said...check your policy. I started the process in early July 2008, used Fairfield County Bariatrics [i live in Stamford] and was banded on 23 September 2008. It all happened very quickly. Fairfield County Bariatrics also operates out of Bridgeport and maybe even New Haven. They are amazing and did a lot of the leg work for me. Anthem went through without a hitch! Now if loosing the weight was so easy!

It depends on your plan and your employer. I had Anthem (in CT) with my company, they did not agree to that rider when making the contract with Anthem. I switched to my wife's policy also with Anthem in CT. and it does cover.

I'm getting banded tomorrow.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
