Great job, Tim! I tho't you looked quite handsome in the BEFORE photos...but your weight loss is obvious. How tall are you? Because looking at the befores I wouldn't have guessed you were 300.

Oh wait, I just realized the "befores" are really actually "Just Afters".

LQTM Still -- Congrats!

Kirkland, WA. 10 min drive to Seattle. You?

You need to go through a psych evaluation? Why? I didnt have to go through any of that, but then again I went to Mexico for my surgery.

Haha I'm just about as far away from where you live as someone could possibly be in the whole country lol. I live in Attleboro, Mass. Its about 50 minutes south of Boston and 10 minutes north of Providence, RI. Yeah I have to do a psych eval, along with a bunch of other stuff. But on the other hand my surgeon is in a town about 25 mins from me, so I don't have to go all the way to Mexico lol. They sent me a huge packet with things I have to answer about myself. I guess its just to make sure I'm not insane or something lol.

Hi Tim, your thread was very inspirational to me. I am 23, 6 feet tall and weigh 314 lbs (similar to your stats it seems). I will be banded in a month and my goal is reach the 190 lbs mark. It would be great if you could share any specific advice on what helped you to lose the weight in such a short space of time ie. type of food, type of exercise, certain motivating techniques etc.

Thanks for sharing your pics and Congratulations !

Well for now, ill say:

-Dont freak out about the liquids phase. Just always have a bottle of Water or something with you and it will keep you filled as long as you are drinking frequently.

-When you start exercising remember to always do 25+ minutes of cardio (if you are at a gym) and then start your workout (lifting or whatever). Finishing with cardio as well is a good idea too.

That's it for now, off to the gym! :)

If you have any questions, Ramone, dont be afraid to send me a PM.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
