Freakin Weekend

Recommended Posts

DAng. I do so good on the weekdays, but on the weekends it is so much harder. Especially because I haven't had a fill which I am ok with because I have my date and I am still progressively losing, but I eat so much more on the weekends, and I don't follow scheduled meals, I guess because I eat Breakfast before work, lunch at a certain time, and dinner about 2 hours after I get off, but the weekends I don't have that structure. I can't believe I am saying this, but I can't wait until Monday.:(

Oh I can empathize completely. We do a lot of riding on the weekend and we aren't on any schedule so we grab food when and where we can. Weekends are definitely the hardest. Add to that the fact that my kids and I went down to Lakeland this weekend for my ex husband's annual St. Patrick's Day party. This year was a small party and included was

5 corned beef briskets

1 whole 60 lb pig

two huge shepherd's pies

cabbage and potatoes

soda bread

plus everything that other people bought which included numerous Desserts

I did very good though. I had some corned beef and some pork and some shepherd's pie. Didn't do so hot in the alcohol dept although the drinks I made were mixed with sugar free tropicana orangeade LOL I think the worst thing I did over the weekend was have some thin crust pizza extremely late on Friday night after we got into the hotel. But we were hungry and there weren't very many places open at 11:00 on Friday night that were healthy.

We will see how much damage I did in the morning when I weigh in.

I've just been giving the okay to eat regular foods and wouldn't you know it...I have no trouble with anything! We were out of town this weekend at our daughters dance competition and the schedule was crazy. We had to eat on the go many times, which meant eating less than healthy things. I did take yogurt and I ate that for breakfast and Snacks, so I guess that is better than nothing.

Amen sisters! The work week is so much easier!! I have the daily menu down Monday through Friday. Either a scrambled egg or oatmeal for breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch, grilled fish or chicken with veggies for dinner. Simple - it works well and I don't have to think about it.

But the weekend?? Watch out! Suddenly I have to contend with eating out at restaurant with DH and/or friends. And, I'm home with my little boys and I'm snacking on leftover Peanut Butter and jelly crusts, or a handful of grapes, or sneaking the toppings off a slice of leftover pizza. Yikes! Send me back to work!

I completely agree!!

I'm freaking out big time. I'm able to get everything down really well... And I was bad on Saturday night. I had a sour cream and chicken enchilada and like 10 chips and salsa. I promised myself I wouldn't do that, but I did. Sure enough, I gained a pound the next day. I worked hard yesterday to lose it and I did this morning, but with all my up and down, I'm still stuck on the same exact number~!! During the week I keep on a strict plan and I follow it very well. I just need to get back into that... I have zero restriction right now... :mad2: I can't wait till the 25th when I get my first fill, even though it will be so little I doubt I will feel anything.

I'm with the rest of you. It is much easier during the week! I know exactly what I'm going to eat and when, but on the weekend is a different story. My teenagers have all kinds of Snacks around and it's not always easy to pass it by. I've been doing pretty good, although I did sneak the toppings off a slice of pizza on Saturday. If I stay home on the weekend, I find myself sometimes falling into that old habit of thinking about what I can eat next. Sometimes, though, it's very refreshing to realize I have gone hours without thinking about food at all. And even with weekend "cheating", I'm sure eating a lot less than I used to!

I'm probably the worst when it comes to weekend eating, so over the years I have come up with a few ways to battle this. I even have one for you Jax, because I travel a lot too.

Jax, try always carting a large ice-chest with you where ever you go. Fill it with healthier choices such a FF Yogurts, low calorie frozen Entrees, lite fruit juices (yes they make these), sf puddings, lean deli-meats, etc. This really keeps me in line during my travels. I really have no good excuse to "eat off of plan".

Now for the weekend eaters...

*Write up a weekend itinerary. Mark down all the times during the day when you are allowed to eat, such as 7 am, Breakfast, 12 pm lunch... etc. Post it up somewhere you will likely see it all day. If you are out and about, you might just have to make a pit stop at home to make sure you are eating properly. I did this all last weekend. For the first time ever, I think I actually lost weight over the weekend trying out this new idea.

*Find something to do so that you are not at home, watching TV or doing things that you associate with munching. This is a great time of year to get out there and get yourself organized, garage or whatever.

*Do some clothes shopping. Just because you are out shopping does not mean you have to buy anything. Just go around and try on a bunch of clothes to see how they fit on you. I find this is also great incentive to come back in a few weeks to see how it fits on you again.

*Make your weekly weigh-in day on Mondays. This way you are completely accountable for all the mistakes you made over the weekend!

I don't work... kids are in school... so everyday is a challenge to not eat all day. Although, weekends are harder since we usually go to restaurants.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
