I was banded on 3/3/08. I still have gas pain and feel it in my left shoulder and neck. sometimes the gas pain is unbearable. Has anyone had this problem and did it go away?

The bad gas pains lasted about 2 weeks for me, my shoulders were Okay, but the GAS was terrible!!

Keep up the faith, it DOES get better!

I had gas pains for about 9 days!! It was so bad, I could barely breath as the gas moved around in my chest. It goes away almost without notice, and you'll forget you even had it! Heating pad and lots of walking is the best thing to relieve the pain! You'll make it through, hang in there!

I had very severe gas pains for 6 weeks after my surgery and I finally started taking Gas-X on a regular basis (as directed on package) and they finally subsided, Thank God! I felt like I was having a heart attack and they would take my breath away. I wasn't able to walk them off because they hurt so badly. I have had no further problems since.

i was banded 3/5 and yes I feel your pain. there are times when i hiccup and i can just feel it go from in my shoulder up thru my neck. it hurts so dang bad, i could scream. it is appearing to subside a little as i return to more solid food. it is really bad if i am hungry, my shoulder lets me know when it is time to eat. go figure, oh excuse me i need to eat my shoulder is hungry. hahah g2s

Hey all, I was banded 3/5 and still have this pain. I talked with other banders and did some research. It is possibly referred pain from the diaphragm. The nerves that supply the diaphragm also supply the shoulders. Just like when your gall bladder is bad, your right shoulder will hurt. Search for left shoulder pain on here and you will find a medical explanation of this from other banders. Mine is getting better. Try not to lay on your right side when you sleep. Good luck!
