March Bandsters - Mini Goals & Rewards?

Recommended Posts

My first mini goal is under 200 (its been 10+years:eek:), i have 18lbs left. I need new makeup so I decided when I reach my goal I am going to go to the MAC counter for a makeover & get all new makeup! So excited.

My ultimate goal weight, my reward is going to be an all new wardrobe from Nordstrom's including a personal shopper!!!! Can't wait.

Thanks for the thread guys, I love this idea! My first mini-goal is to be under 300. I have about 11 lbs to go. My treat will be a paraffin wax pedicure. Yummy, my toes can feel it already!

I was banded on 318 and my short term goal is to get under 200 lb. Not sure how I will reward myself as I already feel that each day is a reward. I might think of something as i get closer though.

1/1/08 - 262:cursing:

3/15/08 - 250

3/18/08 - 247 banded

4/3/08 - 233:wub:

my short term goal, is to walk for 30 minutes EVERY day in the month of April. I was banded on 3/31, and have walked for 30 minutes every day since. I had my husband take me to the mall today so we could walk, because its pouring rain out! My reward will be a spa manicure & pedicure!

I love this thread!

I think I should set a mini-goal to help me get motivated since I am starting to feel a bit down and need to get on track with making healthy choices.

My first mini-goal is to hit 250 before May arrives. I can do it. It's 13 pounds away....Lord grant me the strength to make wise choices!

I really love these mini-goals that you all have chosen. I especially like the goal to walk every day. I think that's a great idea because activity is so very important for us.

My weight loss seemed to have stalled for a bit. It's strange but it seems like there is a really fine line for my caloric intake between starvation and weight loss. If I go less than 1200 per day, I stall. If I go about 100 or 200 over that then I seem to lose. It's a learning process for sure. :cursing:

So, right now, I'm still about 7 pounds until my first goal - which is to be under 300 pounds.

And I do think the mini-goals help to motivate us! When you accomplish a goal, mini or not, it's such a great feeling of success that you want to keep going. :biggrin2:

I had my lap band on 3/31 - been having carnation instant Breakfast, pudding and cream Soups and Water. I have an awful taste in my mouth and horrific bad breath - anyone having this problem. I was adding unflavored Protein Powder to the instant breakfast but stopped. Just bought slim fast for extra Protein - any thoughts?

Roster first of all congrats on being banded. I know about the breath, I think it is from the protein. Watch out for slim fast it has a lot of sugar in it. I would recommend going to a Vitamin store and picking out a good Protein Drink. One with less than 5 carbs, under 150 calories and has at least 20 protein per scoop. As for the bad breath, I have been brushing my teeth a whole lot more.

thanks for the input. I'm really having a problem getting the Protein in - the taste of the shakes etc that I've tried are awful and I just can't drink them. Have you tried Unjury? I'm meeting with the doctor on Monday, but his dietician isn't available till after that. So far today, I've had cream of mushroom Soup (no mushrooms), 3 bottles of Water, lemon (no sugar) pudding - 1/2 package and that's it. Yesterday, I did carnation instant breakfast (w/protein powder) and soup and pudding. I don't know what to do - I can't go to work next week with this horrible breath!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
