  1. Congrats on all the exercise - I really haven't been doing anything - guess it's time to start. I get my first fill 5/12 and sort of looking forward to it. Seems like I can eat anything and I'm afraid I might be eating too much sometimes. Especially when I go out. Hope to hear from more folks so we can chat about our progress and frustrations (if there are any!)
  2. thought somebody would have written yesterday - it's our 4week anniversary - and Thursday = 1 month. I think I've lost 12 lbs wish it was more - how's everyone doing? Wish this was a more active site
  3. had a pouch of ready to eat shrimp today (15 gr protein) added a little cocktail sauce and a few crackers for lunch - it was awesome....Loved it and low in calories, fat, high in protein I think this whole thing has to include eating different foods than before....
  4. didn't know we could have salads! I'm going to the dietician next Wednesday. I think I can basically try anything as long as I chew .... I'm trying so hard to not eat alot - I also don't feel like I have any restriction. I think after the first fill things will be different. I'm really happy to have done this and am totally committed to losing weight - I want this to work! and it will!
  5. I'm not excercising yet - but plan on walking as soon as the weather gets better. I feel fine, been trying different things when I can. Nothing has bothered me so far. I'm not getting my first fill till 5/12 - I guess my doc waits like 6 weeks. I'm really trying NOT to eat too much - tonite dinner was 6 saltines and some liver sausage (for the protein); lunch was chicken veg soup; snack = Instant breakfast and breakfast oatmeal.... about 3 bottles of water - what are others eating.
  6. 8 lbs so far...I'm happy
  7. hey - does anyone have pain in their left shoulder? Someone told me it's gas...but how odd is that?
  8. thanks I'm gonna try it! Another tip: I was told I could have saltines and I seem to miss "munching".....so I had a couple handfuls of oyster crackers (ate them one by one) .....seemed like a real treat. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sort of trying stuff in small doses. I actually had a tomato (cut up really really small) with my cottage cheese at lunch. I've had no negative affects from anything I have tried. Hope all is going well with the rest of you. My doc is pretty conservative about my weight loss - his expectation for me is 1-2 lbs per week. So I'm going to way myself on Monday. I'm really motivated by all this...as soon as the weather gets better I plan on walking. Have a nice weekend.
  9. checkin in with everyone - how are you all doing? I've been trying lots - cottage cheese, scrambled egg, tuna, oatmeal - all have posed no problem at all. I'm delighted. Biggest problem is still trying to get in all the protein. Ooops, almost forgot dietician recommended peanut butter and banana ......what at treat
  10. Today was quite a day! scrambled egg, CIB, oatmeal, banana w/peanut butter and Soup Yeah. I talked to the dietician and I can try anything pureed or soft little by little. Cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, soft stuff. yeah
  11. forgot to mention - SF fudgsicles have 3 gr of protein....and pretty tasty
  12. I love this site! Went to the doc today and I'm down 6 lbs. He was pleased. I guess every doc is different. He said between tomorrow and Friday to start introducing what he calls pureed....adding yogurt, scrambled egg, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes with low fat gravy, can add melted cheese to egg too. There were a few more suggestions, but don't recall them right now. I will be on that 'pureed' diet for about a week and then I can start introducing soft food - what he described as baby food type. I have to read what he meant. Going back to work was the best thing I could have done - I was so busy I didn't have time to think about hunger or food. (I work in Public Relations for a hospital-desk job). I'm healing well and if the sterii-strips don't fall off by Saturday, he said to just take them off. I am so happy that I have started on this journey...BTW - I cheated and my family had a pizza and there was a little piece of burnt cheese left on the pan - I picked at it and got a piece about the size of dime and chewed and chewed and chewed .....it was delightful!
  13. Just thought I would share: I AM SO HUNGRY! I WANT TO EAT!!!!!!! How are you guys doing?
  14. forgot to say good job to mom2bbb and jbperry!
  15. I love this message board - we're all in the same boat. thanks for looking up the info- how nice of you. I'm going back to work Monday and to the Doctor - we'll see if I've lost anything - I feel like I haven't since my belly sticks out further than it did before! The weather is beautiful here today - going out with my son so he can run his errands. I'll for sure be back on here Monday after work to report in (if not before then!)
