Karey - Have you started using the silicone sheets yet? I also ordered some off of Make Me Heal and am planning to start using them on Monday. I hope it helps - My friend who is the nurse said it is important to wait until all of the scabs and sutures are gone, as the silicone agent will soften them and make them nasty and 'goo-ey' if I don't. She brought me some home from the hospital where she works to get me started until my order from MMH gets here.

Oh and - you look AWESOME Karey !!!

Karey....I can't believe how great you look! I wasn't even thinking about having ps; I thought it wouldn't be worth it at my age, but I have a new goal now! Thank you , thank you for posting your pics. What an inspiration you girls are! I hope you won't mind if I show my hubby your pics. I want to plead my case for ps!

'Course I haven't even been banded yet; better not get the cart before the horse........:cheers2:

Karey, you look great, the top looks like the picture I sent you.

I'm having issues with the swelling above my TT as well. I went to PS Thursday, he said he may have to lypo the area that he and I are not pleased with, just great, then he pinched the midriff and said maybe there too...not unless it's a throw in, LOL.

Now I'm regretting I didn't get the implants, there's always next time, LOL.

Harley - I was thinking about you this morning and wondering where you were . . . Good to hear from you.

I too am swollen in my upper abdomen area, but my PS is thrilled with the results. I also have (what I hope is just swelling) in the area below, (like my private area) my incision. It looks a little 'fuller' than it was before and I am not liking it.

And I have a goofy question - Am I the only one who thinks I might swell MORE when I wear the compression / torture garment from hell?

Nana: You are so funny, saying that my top looks like the pic you sent me! When I get all untaped and get a good view of the girls, maybe I'll PM you a picture. Not 100% sure what they really look like, but I do like the size! I might have to have additional work on the upper tummy too. I'm going to ask the PS about it on next appointment.

Lynn: I'm glad you told me to wait on the silicone sheets until the glue and stitches have dissolved. I'd be a nice mess! LOL! I don't know if the compression garment helps the swelling or not. I think it does where it covers, but causes the swelling to be worse above and below the garment. That's why I think I'm so swollen on the upper part of my tummy and right below my breasts. The garment doesn't go up quite far enough. Oh well!

Well, today seems like a good energy day, so I better get busy and do what I need to for Easter tomorrow. Having a big family dinner at my house. Everyone is helping, but still have lots to do! Happy Easter everyone!

Karey you look beautiful. Just think when the swelling is down how even more wonderful you'll be looking.

You are an inspiration. I had not even considered the need for PS until watching and learning from you gals. You are all so inspiring and I so appreciate your willingness to share. I hope in a year or so I'll be able to see these wonderful results as well.

I am now banded and just trying to get liquids down is a chore right now. I have to keep coming to see what I have to look forward to so again Thanks.

TexasT: Welcome to bandland! It will get better. The port site will feel better in a week or so. Lots of adjustments to make. Before you know it, you'll be back on real food (only a lot less of it)! I really found Lap Band Talk to be a lifesaver when I was first banded also. I didn't know anyone who had a lapband and it was nice to get on here and learn and find out that all the things I was experiencing were normal. I wish you the best, your in for a wonderful transformation. Congratulations on your new lapband!

Karey - girlfriend you look WONDERFUL!!!!!! It makes me so excited to see all of you looking so good. I'm getting more excited everyday.

Question - whats the banding suppose to be doing? Just holding everything tight until it gets all healed up?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
