No, I didn't have that issue. What liquids are you drinking? It may have something to do with your liquids, are you drinking anything with salt, like that Campbells Soup at Hand? You can try switching your liquids and see if that helps, and keep the sf popsicles handy.

Good Luck!

I'm drinking crystal lite, special K Protein Water, and things like that. I have had the Soup. Other than the mouth issue I would have this licked. I'm not sore and I keep reading people having pain at the port site, I don't even no where mine is. Maybe he didn't put a band in, just poked a lot of holes in me. LOL

Crushed ice is good too for the dry mouth, also the I needed something to crunch on, so I used a lot of cubed ice as well. The port is usually the largest scar, or longest. Mine is on my right side.

Sounds like you've got the right attitude, I wish you the best.

I drink the Crystal Light peach iced tea. If you haven't tried it, you must. It's absolutely FABULOUS! I am addicted to that stuff. I don't remember having dry mouth, but I remember reading about this nasty thing... it's a green film on your tongue, and it's from drinking just liquids. I guess nothing hard to scratch it off our tongue like food. People having talked about it, and say it tastes nasty. Maybe that is what it is. It should go away once you start eating food again. :-)

Life... hope all is going well. What a funny story about your son asking why you're not straight. Out of the mouth of babes. They are so funny. The things they say are so honest. I remember when my son was young (oh so long ago ahhaa) and we were in the bank. He was about two and was having this long conversation with this man who was overweight. When the guy was leaving my son said "Hey you, you are too fat. I thought I would die. I wanted to dig a hole in the floor and crawl right in it. When we got in the car I told him he can't say things like that to people, that it hurts their feelings. He started crying and said "but mommy, his stomach was all blown up" lol Isn't that awful.

Also, my mom is very obese, and he would say "My meemah isn't too fat, she's just a little fat, like puffy" hahahhahhaha

He's 24 now, so think he's learned a lesson or thing, but...kids are a riot with stuff like that. They have no idea.

I went to Costa Rica last year. It's absolutely the most beautiful place. They are supposed to have some of the best health care in the world, and cheap. People travel there just for their healthcare. I would feel completely comfortable getting a Tummy Tuck done there, or anything else for that matter. It may be a consideration for the band too. It's much cheaper! Like half the price. Course.. I have like 50 more lbs to go before I can consider reconstructive surgery, but I'll get there! So will you! :-)

OH, also, I forgot to mention. My unfill was very small. I was getting all my solid Proteins stuck. I'm glad I realized it right away. I went in, and Dr. T was so cute. He said I'm really sorry I got you too tight. hahha He took out a very little bit .25 cc, and I feel perfect now. As long as I eat slow, I don't get stuck at all. It's funny, because on the flouro it didn't look like I was too tight, even he said that. The liquid went through pretty easily. But.. I got stuck on my scrambled egg, so that said it. Also, fish... he said a good rule to go by is that if you can't eat fish or seafood, you're probably too tight. Fish is soft and flaky, and I got it stuck really bad. Now it's fine. I had about 4 oz of steak the other night, and was fine. :-) I feel like I'm at a really good spot right now. Although, my weight loss is still really slow at about 1 lb per week. I guess I'm just going to be a slow loser. It was much faster at first, but has drasticlly slowed down. Dr. T said my 1000-1200 calories per day is perfect, and if I'm eating that, I'm doing fine. Some just drop it slower than others. I'm happy I'm still losing, so that is all that matters. I'm really happy I had this done. It has made an amazing improvement on my life.

Hi Luvmy2dogs, glad things are going down better now for you! I still haven't gone in for an un-fill, and just yesterday, when I tried fish for dinner, it just wasn't "easy-going". Not a full blown painful "stuck"...but none-the-less, not going down well. eggs? forget about it!!! Yeah, I guess I do need an unfill. Incidently, I heard from someone.....I think it may have been from harley nana, that once this particular person had a slight unfill, they actually started loosing weight!!! So instead of your weight loss slowing down, it may be just the thing you needed for weight loss!!! Good luck!

Well it's happening a lot faster than I thought but I'm not really complaining. I got my date yesterday. I will be joining the ranks on March 3, 2009 via WLSC and Dr Terracina. I'm a little bit scared... a lot more of me is just worried I'll screw this up... But I want to be healthier.. and that's why I am doing this... Just wanted to say that... Hope you guys are all doing well on your journeys.

Wendy

I have tricare prime and my husband is retired military. Will I have to change to standard for the lap band to be covered. Since we are retired will they refer me to a civilian doctor or will they send me to Portsmouth???

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
