  1. Wow, I never thought about it like that, Thank you Amy.
  2. Thanks, Amy and Joia. I've been so busy the last week I haven't had a chance to get on. I really think that it's all about me getting back on this horse.. and I really appreciate the words of encouragement I've gotten here. I get them at home but it's not the same. In a week I'll go for my fill and I'm ready for it. The feelings of failure have waned and I am focusing on positive feelings. Again thank you everyone =)
  3. Thank you BobbieND, I really needed to hear that! I think that's always been one of my biggest problems I beat myself up. Thank you Heidi as well as Alyce.. I am going to get back on this wagon and I'm going to keep going. I'm very glad I posted... thanks everyone.
  4. Thank you, Leigha. I really need to do some support stuff. Mainly though I need to get back on this horse and take it slow. I think at first I was trying too hard and I kinda set myself up. Now, I do nothing... and I need to just take things one day at a time.
  5. It's been a year(3-5-09). I lost about 50 pounds, and then life took a nose dive. I got my 3rd fill and the doctor told me to come back if I needed another but that I'd have to schedule it. I forgot. I knew it wasn't tight enough, but I felt that I was still doing ok. Then my life really got complicated and I just didn't think about it. I was too busy to think about it and a lot of my old habits came back. I've found myself a year later having gained at least 15 pounds of the 50 back and just lost. I've made an appointment for 3-11-10 and know I have to go. I NEED a fill. I've needed one for about 5 months. I feel like such a failure and I keep telling myself that I got this surgery for this reason. That I can get back on the horse. I know I didn't take advantage of the support groups and I desperately needed them. Now though I don’t have any way to get to them I don’t have the internet at my finger tips all the time and I am so scared. I don’t want to face the doctor; I don’t know what to say. I don’t want to fail. I thought this was going to be better than it has been I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but I thought I could handle it better than I have. I don’t just want this I need this… Thanks for letting me vent.
  6. I began this journey only wanting the lapband. Then I went to the seminar and read all about the realize band. It's owned by johnson & johnson.. They are very respected in the medical world for their quality. Then there's the website. It's a great way to track all in one place. It's got a lot of support and your Drs office is linked to the site. So, after all that I read I only wanted the realize.... then there's the research part they are finding that for some reason people are losing more with the realize band.. at least that's what my Doctor said. I hope you'll be happy with it, sucks you didn't get what you asked for. Hope this helps you feel a bit better... so far I love mine.
  7. Oh that sounds yummy. Thanks for the info. I've been playing with recipes too in hopes of finding that which satisfies. I swear though I don't get like this unless I eat sugar free stuff.. but then it's also that time of the month :scared2: so I'm getting a double.. have a great weekend!!
  8. I was banded on March 3rd too =) I had a lot of gas pain at first but it quickly went. I think the only thing that is bothering me is I'm tired of sweets... Protein shakes are sweet.. eh. I want something savory. I'm doing a few soups to help some but it's not curing it. Anyway, I'm not really hungry, unless I forget to eat at all (busy life) then I know what hungry means now but it's not bad. Drink one 4oz. protein shake and it's gone. So, no I'm not in hell either. I'm feeling awesome, great energy. I get tired at the end of the work week but I'm sure it will pass as I get stronger. Hope you're doing well =)
  9. Hey Luv, I heard about the Protein pack at post op Danni told me that when I was finding out about the pain meds.. and Yes I have Dr T. He's awesome I was so relaxed about the surgery because I knew I was in good hands. I'm glad I wasn't the only one, the nurses where looking at me funny too.. I had one when waiting at preop she was awesome. Then there were two that took me in they were nice and telling me to visit after ..... Thank God no one said you have such a pretty face.. i hate that.. I'm beautiful currently thank you..... off my soap box.. You know we can complain to the hospital. They have standards of patient care.. (sister is a nurse) I do thank you for the info though I was kinda rushed though my insurance came back quick. So I had two weeks to get ready for surgery and I must have missed all that info. Hope you're having a great day! Wendy
  10. Hi LifeStartsNow, I was nervous too.. But it was weird.. I knew I was making the right choice so I felt nervous and calm. I'm sure your experience will be as unique to you as mine was to me. I have a lot of family support so that helped me. Plus just believe in yourself. You have the right idea already... Life Starts Now.. it's a change.. trust me I didn't have a preop diet so I'm not loving the liquid diet, but I know this is what I have to do to be healthy and I'm doing it. It will work out great... and You'll look back with a smile. Wendy
  11. Hi Luv, I'm doing great I've lost 12 pounds since my last visit to WLSC. I still have soreness but overall I'm doing really good. I am feeling a little left out though... I never got my realize card or some of the other things they said I'd get after surgery. I'd love to be tracking everything.. but well I'm hoping I'll be able to get it next week. It was a weird day at Careplex when I had it done. There was a wreck outside and the lights went out for like an hour I think... I'm blaming that for me having to call the WLSC to get my pain meds. It was sad I was being discharged without anything.. The nurse I had seemed to not care... I just didn't think on it at the time but now I'm a little upset about it. Of course the nurse is Sentara's fault.. He should have been glad my sister, the Nurse, wasn't there she would have had his head... might have been funny though.. Wow I'm talking a lot.... Well I hope you're doing well.... all of you in Hampton Roads as well. Wendy
  12. Hi Tex, I'm in post op now.. have been for a few days and I'm finding I've had great energy minus the soreness and stuff. I'm thinking it's my Vitamin. See if you have an organic food place and get yourself a vitamin with really good absorption. Mine is liquid, multi, and get a B complex too and see if you have more energy.. Wendy
  13. Thank you!... I've been moved up and I'm nervous but ready!
  14. March 3rd for me... good luck ya'll!!!!
  15. Well it's happening a lot faster than I thought but I'm not really complaining. I got my date yesterday. I will be joining the ranks on March 3, 2009 via WLSC and Dr Terracina. I'm a little bit scared... a lot more of me is just worried I'll screw this up... But I want to be healthier.. and that's why I am doing this... Just wanted to say that... Hope you guys are all doing well on your journeys. Wendy
