Sometimes I get so JEALOUS....

Recommended Posts

Sometimes I get so JEALOUS when I read these forums and see how much weight people have lost with their lap bands... and then I shake my head and think, "YOU are one of those people".

It is still hard for me to believe that I have lost as much as I have in such a short time.

I still seem to beat myself up sometimes in my head that I "could" be doing better... but overall, I am very happy with the progress I have made

The average weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week and you're averaging better than that. Why would you be jealous? It's better to concentrate on your progress and following your prescribed plan than to compare yourself to others. You're a success!

It looks like you are doing awesome! I have only lost 20lbs and I was banded 1 month after you, you have me more than doubled!

You should be thrilled to have lost 46lbs in 3 months, that's GREAT!

Oh no.. I am not REALLY jealous... I just seem to forget for a moment that I am on the Bandwagon too... it's just that feeling of "dang, I wish it was ME losing that weight" and then I remember that I AM losing that weight!

I am within 10 pounds of my permanent goal and I am just awestruck every day by that fact. I'm not fat anymore. I'm like everyone else! I don't stand out in a crowd. My clothes look GREAT on me. I can pretty much shop anywhere I want to now. People tell me I am "wasting away" and I just SMILE AND SMILE AND SMILE (and NO that does not insult me in any way shape or form! Bring it on!). I am a success story. WOW!!!!! Who'd a thunk it!

It is kind of amazing to think that after a lifelong struggle with obesity, I have this wonderful little tool inside me that is helping me to finally win that battle. I love my band!

Sometimes I think too little emphasis is put on the healthly lifestyle potential of weight loss. Yesterday was my 4 month anniversary and I've lost 88lbs. Looking back, there were 3 and 4 days strectches where I lost 7lbs and 3 and 4 days stretches where I lost none. During the tough stretches, I reminded myself how well I've eaten (healthy) and losing weight isn't the sole reason for joy considering I no longer expose my body to bad things. Knowing that I only put good things in my body is a success in and of itself.

Losing 4lbs in week because all you had was two choc. shakes a day isn't as rewarding to me as losing 2lbs while eating Protein, veg/fruits...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
