Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Had my LAP BAND done on 11-26-2007 in Buffalo, NY at Buffalo General Hospital by Dr. Aaron Hoffman. I've have had no problems what-so-ever and the support from Dr. Hoffman has been FANTASTIC. He is the BEST doctor ever! I would recommend anybody from the Buffalo, Rochester, NY area to have Dr. Hoffman perform the BAND! GREAT DOC!

michelle,

i can tell u having the band was the best decision i ever made

I saw Dr. hoffman today...boy this was the quickest i was ever out of there. my appt was at 3 pm, got there at 230pm and was on my way out by 3:05 pm. they gave me a medium fill. that was only my second fill and next tuesday will be my 1yr anniversary of being banded.

Please forgive me...I'm not banded but I'm looking into the pros and cons and learning all that I can about banding vs. bypass. So, what IS a fill? The above post sounds like a stop by a gas station.

they tighten ur band

congrats betsy

Congrats Betsy I still have to go for my repeat sleep study and I need to schedule another visit with the dietitian.

Hi all!!! its been a while since my last post, i've been trukin along lost 47 lbs so far and happy about it. i still dont see or feel any different. this is my last week of school and i'm looking forward to my break. I had a hard time last week eating, i think i had something stuck cause it was really tough. but i made it through. i was just worried cause i purged a few times and i know thats not good. good to hear everyone is doing good.

hi guys! haven't been on in a long time took a couple vacations, visited my daughter and grandchildren in georgia and yakity yak yak......any way, during my vacation, i was plagued by horrible heart burn and could hardly eat anything, i went to hoffman last tues. and he says my band may have slipped and i have to go for a barrium swallow in 4 weeks. I have lost 83 lbs and the hoff says when you lose that much that the band can slip cause your stomach also loses weight. OMG, i am so scared, cause he said if it is so, i will have to have another surg!!!! also, all of a sudden the last two days i can eat endless amounts of food and that is another sign of a slipped band cause it slips downward and your pouch is much larger..anyone ever have a slippe band or know anyone with one, please let me know, i am terrified. I have 5.8 cc in my band now, when i hear what you all have it seems like alot, but the doc says between 5-7 cc is normal for maintanance. thanx for listening vicki

well i had to be seen in the office today and have some of my last fill taken out. barb told me my band has about 4 cc still in it and that im very sensitive to the fills and dont need alot. i was so bad this weekend couldnt even get liquids done without vomiting.im so much better since she took some of the fill out.

vicki,

my last fill was the end of march and it was right away but i thought i would wait and see what happened. big mistake! it was bad this weekend that i could only eat 2 bites of food and i was full. big lesson to learn you dont lose weight faster if you are too tight...in fact it prob was slower...so i learned my lesson

val, thanks for responding. Actually, i too thought I was just too tight, but I was surprised to hear the Hoff say he thinks my band slipped, I pray it is only too much fill. I wonder why he didn't just take a little out to see? I am glad you are doing well, I will let you know what he says. I think my appt is june 3.

Vicki,

They think you have a slipped band and there making you wait til June 3rd? That doesnt sound right. Why arent they checking to put your mind at ease?

not really sure rain, DR H. said to stop taking my potassium meds and to stop downstairs on my next appt date to have the test done, he said lisa would schedule it and she did for 8:30 am.. Someone said he was going out of town, so maybe he didn't want to deal with it now..I;m not really sure. he said if he had to operate, it wouldnt be as bad as the first surg!!!!! OMG i hope it;s not slipped.
