Was banded on 1/26/10 and have lost about 40 lbs. I am at about 8 cc now I think (go in monthly) most of the time she doesnt' even put in a full cc. I do good for a couple days and then back to eating what I know is too much. I have been sitting at 40lbs almost 2 months now. I am getting discouraged! This thread is helping me keep my spirits up in hopes that I hit the sweet spot soon. Don't get me wrong very happy over 40 lbs but want more! Need to loose another 40!

There really isn't any exact # anyone can give to you to let you know what your "sweet spot" is because everyone is so different. You will always need an adjustment the more weight you lose. So say you have 8.5 ccs and you find that is your sweet spot (with good restriction) then the next month you lose 10 pounds your band may need to be adjusted because your stomach shrunk. That is what is so frustrating (at least to me) is that the "sweet spot" is a flying target. You just need to pay attention to that Yellow/Green/Red zone sensations.

I know for a fact that I was at good restriction a few weeks ago and had lost about 3 or 4 pounds and now I feel that I need another fill. I thought I was at my sweet spot but that only lasted a few weeks.

Good luck, you are doing a great job!

i just had a fill almost 2 weeks ago...my first fill since APRIL!! I had great restriction after the April fill...and that's when i truly learned to SLOW DOWN...lol I still only occasionally have a pb/vomit issue but rarely now....(tmi? lol)

Anyway at this last fill i thought i needed a small fill..he thought i should have one full cc so now i'm at 10.5cc's....and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! Omg, i only get hungry if i've gone way too long w/out eating, i can eat VERY small amounts and be staisfied for hours, plus there's lot of foods (mostly breads) that i can't eat anymore. And i'm OK with that!

I'm 15 months post op, down 50 pounds since surgery, and i have amazing restriction..so i'm losing more! :smile2:

Just got my 3rd fill, 10.25cc in 14 band and after I got back on solids, is seems like I have less restriction than before. The person that did the fill really jabbed around the port "looking" for it for a long time. I am almost convinced that she poked my tube and caused a leak. I went from 7.5cc at the 2nd fill and she added 2.75cc. after the second fill I HAD to eat slow I would pb very easy too from eating too fast or too much still got hungry after 2 hrs or so. Now I can gulp Water and eat without thinking about it. I still can PB if I eat really dry chicken or ham but I think I am less restricted. getting bummed as its been since July and I dont feel like this band thing is helping much, just making every day suck. and I am not losing much lbs either.

the question is, is it possible to have a fill and feel like you have LESS restriction? it doesn't seem right.

I did not feel any real restriction until I got my last fill 2 weeks ago and now have 7.5 in my 14 band. Have lost 10 lbs since then!! I am set for another fill next week but I am wondering if I still need to go in. I think I may and just see what my doc thinks =)

In april I was up to 9.5cc's....and I was good until this september and he put me up to 10.5! I thought that sounded high but it is my sweet spot! :) I can only eat very small amounts, i'm NEVER hungry, and I don't even think about eating for a good 4-5 hours....

However, I had a stomach bug last week and had to have an unfill due to inflamation...now i'm back to 7.5cc's (which i havent been here since this time LAST year) and it's scary! I was almost instantly hungry again and i can eat lots of things that I couldn't eat before. Next thursday (12/23) I go back to get filled up again...but probably only to 10.25, which I'm ok with....can't wait to get back up there so that I can get back to being ME again...

I had 91/2 cc in a 14 cc band, if i did not chew my food thoroughly and take small bites, i would get stuck, and have to wait approx an hour before food went down. I had to have 1cc removed because i would get stuck on a large pill i had to take for diabetes. During this time i did not loose any weight because i would eat foods that were easy to go down, ie starches, rice, potatoes. I finally decided to control my blood sugars by going on a high Protein low carb diet, the doctor changed my medications, so now i am taking smaller pills, and i am going back Tuesday to have the 1cc put back in. I had to re-group, and refocus back to following the rules for diet and eating, and now i am bound and determined to stick to the recommended diet regimen so i can loose my weight and get to my goal. I am a car addict and realize that i have to eliminate it from my diet in order to be succesful.

10.3 here in a 14CC, finally feeling full for a longtime now after eating, portions have reduced, but I think its one more fill for me and Im there! Eating about 1.5 to 1.75 cups to get full, so Im looking for that magic number! Whats going to get me to a 1/2 cup.

Definately a learning process, but a good one. Maybe another .3 fill? dunno....But Im almost there!

I got to 6.5 cc before I had GOOD restriction but as I lost weight the most I had was 7.8 cc and was too tight. Right now at 7.2 cc and going to get a fill because this isnt enough. Everyone is different. Good luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
