I went into Philly to have it done. I love my Doc. He does not make you wait for fills, he listens & the staff bends over backwards for you. I have lost 53 pounds. I was banded on 10/5/07. I am soooooooooooo happy with this band. It is a great tool!

Welcome Moon and good luck on your journey. I am in the Camden County area, outside Philadelphia. Welcome to the site and check out the chat room, will get a lot of good info in there. I was new at all of this too several months back, but the friends I made here were great and informative. Good luck Brenda

ESA. Dr. Morris Washington.....I am seeing his associate Dr.Sadek. I met with him yesterday and he was REALLY nice and very informative. The only thing that sort of bugged me was he seemed a little more in favor of the GB instead of the LB! Don't know why because I was too busy taking it in to ask so I have a call into him for a phone consult. I am very pleased just curious as to his opinion.

When I first went in for a consult I met with the co-ordinator Jessica, I did not meet a surgeon. I just found out a week ago who will be my surgeon I can't pronounce her name but I will be meeting her two weeks b4 surgery. I have heard very good things about there practice so feel pretty confident about the process. How far have you come?

I am very happy as well. My surgery date is 7/16! I am so excited cause it took me a while until the insurance approved me. The office is a little crazy these days since they are going to a chart less system but I think it will be all good. How has it been for you?

I went for my first appt. back in Nov. 2008 but was kind of bombarded with all the work that needed to be done prior to even submitting anything to my insurance. I decided to maybe try dieting once more and see what happens. By April of this year I realized that dieting alone for me is not enough and decided to go ahead with the meetings, psych evaluation etc. The hard part was waiting for paperwork to get back to there office and await a response. Now worry has set in and I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.

I did the EXACT same thing last year! I thought that I could do it on my own and why after over 35 years I ever thought that was beyond me! I found out on May 29th that my insurance approved me and I was scheduled for July 16th! I couldn't believe it was so fast but now I am starting the liquid...blah! I hope I can find something tasteful because after only 5 days, the medifast is starting to make me sick! Have you finished your classes yet?

Yeah..I finished my classes a while ago and my psych evaluation. The doctors office wouldn't send anything to insurance without that done as well as a 5 yr weight history. I really thought I wouldn't get approved because I thought that it's the Insurance Companies job to find a way not to approve many people. But to my excitement I was approved earlier this week and am schedule for Aug. 20th. I could have had the surgery 3rd week in July but were going away and that would have been hard to do the liquid diet. So I guess this trip will be my last supper b4 liquid diet and baby food. Yummy!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
