What are you eating Nymph's?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about you, Sades, and hoping your fill went well. I'm still feeling restricted in the best way -- that is, no bad side effects but very little hunger on very little food. I hope that's what you have, too!

Take care!

I was thinking about you as well Longhorn. Glad to hear your restriction is good. I've eaten very little today but not hungry, so that's great. I haven't eaten solids yet but so far no side effects either. I feel so much better after all those weeks of no restriction.

Shortgal I'm sure your time will come. I waited so long to get this, hope it lasts. I was told to go back in 4 weeks to see how I'm going.

My food choices today weren't the best but felt restricted.

Breakfast/mid morning: 1 banana

Late morning: Skim latte

Lunch: Spinach & Ricotta cheese pastry roll; 1 small peach

Afternoon snack: 1/2 scone with very little jam & cream (work meeting)

Dinner: Small piece of fried chicken breast (1 oz); 8 Water crackers with spring onion dip; 1 small peach

Snack: 1/2 cup jelly & light custard

Snack: 1 mini frozen yoghurt stick

I couldn't believe how many calories I had today, even though I didn't think I ate too much... 1500. It just shows that we really have to think about what we put in our mouths, no matter how small it looks. :frown:

I just found this post...and I am really interested in what you all are able to eat...I must be at full restriction because all I can eat is liquids.

Today I ate...

Breakfast-Nothing

Lunch-1/2cup tomatoe bisque, watermelon slush

Tried to eat the toppings off a pizza...but didn't go so well.

Dinner-bowl of Soup from baradise bakery.

I didn't go to my last fill because I already feel like I can't eat...

I was banded november 5th...

Got my first fill 3 weeks later

3 weeks later 1/2cc

3 weeks later 1/2cc

3 weeks later 1/2 cc

My starting weight was 215 and as of this morning I'm at 183. I work out with a personal trainer 3 times a week and do cardio three times a week on my own. So I burn major calories, I've talked to my doctor about how I have a hard time eating, and they keep telling me to eat slower and take smaller bites and that I should be able to eat.

How long does it take everyone to eat a typical meal? How long do you chew your food?? Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Thanks!

sounds like you are too tight and you're losing weight through starvation. Where was your Protein in the day's food you listed? How can you be working out every day without getting adequate nutrients and getting the Protein you need.

The "pouch" is meant to keep you satisfied by holding solid food. In the day's food you listed you didn't have any solid food.< /p>

How can the Dr. tell you what YOU feel inside YOUR stomach or what should go down your throat?

Most likely with the level of restriction you have, you'll lose weight and the band will loosen some and you'll be able to eat a little better. This might be what the Dr. is hoping will happen with some waiting time.

But that is not the intent of the band or how it should work.

I know I need some more restriction, but I can eat chicken, beef, eggs, Cereal, salad, apples, cooked veggies and I hope I can always eat these foods.

Imonmyway,

In additon to what Shortgal said, you will lose the weight by starvation, but once your band loosens up and you are able to eat solids you will gain weight because your body will freak out and start storing the extra calories. I was to tight and couldn't eat solids. I went back in for a very small .5cc unfill. That made a huge difference in being able to eat solids. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
