looking for bandsters over 350 lbs

Recommended Posts

It seems to me that most people who have the band are around 100 and 150 lbs over weight. I would love to hear the experience of bandsters over 350. I was banded 11/17/07. I started out at 434 and now am down to 370 It seems to be happening fast. I try to stay under 1000 calories a day, but I do slip up sometimes. I also see my self stuffing myself when I cook something that I really like. I dont get hungry often which is good. It just seems such a long road ahead. I guess the good thing is that i am on the right road this time. I am so thankful to be able to tie my own shoes again. I can walk down the hallway and people dont hear my breathing before they see me. Who ever invented the Lap Band .....I say Thank you!

Go to this forum:

Weight Specific Lap-Band Support Groups (NEW!) - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support

There you will find the threads about specific BMI's and starting weights (that we previously had peppered all over this board) now concisely grouped together, it's wonderful!

I was banded at 382. I'm now between 235 - 245, fluctuating (but mot changing sizes). Was a size 32 or larger, now I range from 14 - 22. Mostly 18/20 on top, some 14/16. Mostly 18 or 20 on bottom, some 22.

I had a thread specifically for people with starting BMIs of 50+. It was good and had a ton of experience/resources in it, but now for the life of me I can't find it. I hope that when the new forums were setup, that the old information wasn't just thrown away.

I wonder why it was closed. Have to see what I can find out. It was a good thread.

Though when you go to the forum, it's not there. I've found this with a lot of the archived info. You can search for it if you know the title or you are searching for a specific term, but it's not visible on the board.

I'd love to have a link to the archives, versus always having to search for things.

I think Alex closed a lot of those longer threads and then just opened new ones when he reorganized things. The longer threads with thousand(s) of posts bog the system down each time they are opened.

I like that there are now subforums for all those sticky's and the hot-button threads that hadn't become sticky's yet (Low BMI for example), but I do wish they weren't hidden from view. Even if they were closed, they should still be easily accessible.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
