I also used Dr.Jose Rodriquez and went thru Belight(Jessica) I was banded 2-22-08 and was very happy with everything. I felt that the care was good and I have had no problems ,,,, My Fill center knew of him and Belight and actually told me not to worry they have many people who have used them with no problems at all ......

Hello

I had a band put in by Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey in 2006. One year later I had it removed due to "Erosion".

I felt like a lepper around the doctors here in the US. They would'nt touch me. I could get a fill with no problem, but that was all. I'm sure there are good surgeons in Mexico and I went there because I had to self pay, but know that they will back away from you over any complications. No money = No service. I'm sure I could have died down there and been thrown out with the trash.

It really dosen't make any sense to have surgery done in a country where you can't drink the Water.< /p>

That is bizarre thinking. There are parts of the US where the water isn't so great, should everyone go to India instead?

Your logic makes no sense at all. Actually, logic has nothing to do with your scenario.

Dr. K is good, but so are some Mexican doctors and the Mexican guys are about $3K cheaper, they don't do outpatient surgery, you stay in a fully equipped HOSPITAL for two nights following surgery vs. the staff pushing you out the door when you wake up, and the list goes on. Why wouldn't someone do that?

There is good care to be had in Mexico if one does their research.

Bubble Butt, Bubble Butt, Dear Sweet Innocent Bubble Butt !

You are Johnnie on the spot anytime someone gives a negative oppinion concerning Mexico. This explaines how you got over 5,000 postings. How do you do it??? You must troll this site 24/7. It must be kind of like a paid job for you.

There are those of us who got screwed down South of the border. We have a right to be heard.

Gracias

You went to a doctor with the highest erosion stat probably in the industry and you blame your erosion on the Water?

I am about as pro-Mexico as they come, but only if you do research. One issue I will give you though is that many did not know about Arturo Rodriguez' erosion stats until recently. Point being, you are blaming your erosion on the Water in Mexico. You gotta admit, that is kind of silly.

Aren't you the one that was upset because you had to pay to have your band removed? Did you think you were going to get it for free in the US? You would have had to pay a lot more money in the US than what you paid in Mexico.

Sure, you have a right to be heard and you have a right to make no sense at all. You have a right to blame the water in Mexico on your erosion but it still doesn't mean others aren't going to continue calling you on your nonsense about water and erosion.

Dear Bubble

I read your Blog. Most impressive. I'm converted. A new Cos is born. I still wouldn't go back to Mexico for anything other than a Taco Platter, but I will give you this, you do seem to know your Research Techniques.

Maybe I'll be nice and you can help me if I ever get enough money together for another band.

While I am fairly sure you will not agree with me, I have to say I do not believe we need a mommy here always telling us to play nice. Yes, we are adults. Adults sometimes express themselves strongly, especially when their beliefs and integrity are being questioned. Other posters will let us know when we cross the line. Please don't try to overpolice this forum; it will ruin it.

Many U.S. surgeons will only disclose a self-pay rate during a private consultation. It never hurts to make an appointment and shop around.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
