Hi Jenn! Good to see you posting! Line dancing class sounds like so much fun!! Hope you're able to start soon. I've been wanting to join a salsa class but haven't had the courage because I'd have to go by myself! I think I might just do it...

Yeah, doesn't he realize that sitting around eating w/him is what got me fat in the first place?? :cool2:

Haydee... the Zumba class I'm going to is very similar to a Salsa class, I think... it's latin american music & we mambo & salsa & cha cha cha all over the place! I like it because the music is so upbeat -- I can't help but move to it! I went all by myself... walked right in... grabbed a spot... and did it! So can YOU!!

Way to go Tracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle, put the scale in your trunk.

I agree the fried eggs sounded odd, I guess you can fry anything. They were talking at work the other day about fried twinkies, that seems odd also.

Oh well off to start my day!!

Hugs to you Jenn!!!!!!!!!

Good morning girls!

Good to see you wanting to make positive steps Jenn----the decision to move on forward is sometimes the hardest part of really doing it!

We lost our game last night, but it was mainly due to the arguement between our coach and Rick's secretary's family (4 women on the team are from her family, her 2 DD's and her sister). They made a "statement" to the coach by not showing up! Claimed an emergency. He finds out today they were mad so didn't come. Since it is a co-ed team, you are required to play equal # of men and women. And you MUST have 4 each to make a team. The only way we made 4 women was to play Barb who is 7 months pregnant! So it wasn't pretty! Most of the other team (which was the other company team) knew what was going on, and made a game of it, but there were about 4 guys whose sole mission was to pound them into the ground. Glad it is over! I felt horrible, but was not taking any chances and playing!

I am going to lunch with my friend Marie today. She is coming over and we are walking down to the Mexican place here in town. It is a nice walk, maybe 1/3 of a mile. Going is nice, but actually getting up and walking AFTER eating makes me feel soooo much better!

Swelling is still bad, and I have a horrid rash----all over my torso, grainy and under the skin mostly, except in the places I have scratched it raw. I wake myself up at night scratching, and when I scratch over one of my incisions it brings me out of a deep sleep in a hurry! So will ask him about it this afternoon. I am living on Benadryl and Zyrtec to keep the itching at bay----so I am like a zombie I am always sleepy.

YAY it is payday!!! So I can at least put it in the other account and have some money at my disposal. Everyone (ok NOT everyone, but parents, and Becky, even DD and DS) was offering us money to get by!! Would be nice to have our own! Such a crappy thing to happen!

Did any of you read that Alex changed the edit options page to include an area to make your font, color and size your own personal choice and default.....just go to your edit options page and it is at the bottom. Yay Alex!!! Fonts we will be able to see with old eyes!!!

Rick used to only occasionally question my eating habits. But since surgery he pays waaaay to close of attention!!! He is gradually backing off since he sees I am eating, I have had zero nausea....all that jazz. I know they do it because they care and worry---we would probably do it too!!!

Well I need to go get Kinsey and I ready. She is going to Nana's (my Moms) and I am going to lunch. Gotta tell you, yesterday we were in town and I groaned getting in the van (driving it because it is easier to get in and out of with my sore tummy)---and I said something about getting old, and Kinsey pipes up with "you not old Granny, Nana is" There was no not laughing, even Mom was cracking up!!! Out of the mouths of babes she says!!!

Check in later!!

Yeah I've seen some yummy looking fried stuff, but I've never actually been anywhere that had it.

I'd like to try the snickers, and cheese curds..

Twinkies are disgusting non-fried, I wouldn't touch em even if they fried it.

That's so exciting Tracy! 170's! WOWEEE!!

We did our Wed. night cracker barrel last night.. I got 1 catfish fillet, with turnip greens. Somehow (I say somehow, because I have no restriction, nothing is off limits anymore, I even ordered the smaller meal just so I'd have less to eat) I ate 3/4 of the fillet and all of the turnip greens-man they are good-and I felt so stuffed on the way home. I didn't catch it while I was eating, but I had the knot in my stomach, like the pre-band knot you get on thanksgiving day. I was miserable, and I said something like 'Man I am hurting, I wish I could just puke some of it up'.. Russell looked at me and goes 'Gee, that's the spirit'.. heh.

Having my morning chocolate milk, and I'm already hungry. By time I went to bed last night, I was craving something. I was half-asleep and half-starving for a hamburger. I decided to sleep and forget about the craving.. but then I woke up, and I'm still craving meat.< /p>

Good afternoon, Violets.. Can't get my default to work for the fonts and color of the posts. I was excited I wouldn't have to do all that stuff anymore, but looks like I still will. I changed everything in edit options and saved it, but still won't work.

Ethan is finally napping so I have a little quiet time.

Had an egg with cheese and sausage for Breakfast, but Ethan ate most of it and what I did eat, I pb'd. Just finished some yogurt and will eat again at 2:30.

Tracy.. congrats to your mom on her surgery date. My friend that was going to have hers done next Friday had the date moved up to Tuesday. She's so anxious to get things done.

As for the food porn you all have been mentioning today. I prefer the chocolate covered stuff to the fried stuff. Gimme a chocolate covered potato chip any day!! Ok.. not today. I'm trying to be extra good.

We leave on our cruise in 9 days. That will be it for the year and only one cruise next year.

I'm excited about Alabama next year. A dear friend that I have been chatting with for over 5 years lives in Mobile. He is contemplating coming to meet me in person while I'm with you ladies. So don't be surprised if I take an afternoon off to run away with him! And yes, the Bobster knows and approves, so don't even think what you're thinking!!!:cool2:;)

It certainly is Fall here. It's only 49 degrees right now and it just looks like Fall. DD Kris and I are headed to Mackinaw City on Friday after a side trip to an apple orchard. We hope to hit all the closing sales at stores as Mackinaw basically shuts down for the winter.

One more concert and a little gig at a senior citizen's home and I will be done with performing for the year... I HOPE!!

Well, time to go dig out the winter clothes from one closet and replace them with the summer things.. at least the stuff I'm not taking on the cruise.

I hit the hot tub last night and it sure felt good. They are coming to close up the pool this week sometime. I'm ready to head to the warm waters of the Caribbean for some relaxing and alone time with the Bobster. Well, as alone as you can be with 3,000 other people on a ship!!

Everyone have a great day!!

Mobile is quite a drive, but ya'll should definitely do that, it's a lot closer than Michigan!

I am going to a support group tonight. I forgot about it--really wish I hadn't. I am so frumpy looking today, I hate getting dressed these days.. nothing ever fits right, but I can't wear maternity yet!

Someone on LBT, said there's a group that means in town, but it's mostly bypass. She's trying to get enough of us together to start an official lap band group in town. I'm in!

Mom wants to take me to olive garden for lunch today.....chicken scampi!!!!!!!!!!

Man I am so hungry... I want sausage and eggs too Judy!

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
