I had surgery in the end of July , its been 6 months and I'm still feeling hungry and I can still eat , I lost about 15 pounds right away because of the surgery itself , but since then I only lost about 2 pounds a week , I have 3.0 cc in my band , ...I'm curious what everyone else has , whats the highest cc the band can go , I just want the hungry feeling to go away !!!!!!!! .the day of surgery I was 290lb , ......... 6 months later i weigh in at 266 , ........ i'm not happy with the results yet , I would like to weigh in at 200lbs , ................ is there a point when you had a fill and the hungry feeling just goes away ??

Thanks to all who reply

What size band do you have?

2 lbs a week is a normal healthy rate, most doctors want you to only lose 1-2 lbs per week. It sounds to me that you are doing really good. Talk to your fill doctor about the hunger, maybe you need another fill?

Oh, I have 5cc in my 10cc band, I hope to be getting another fill on Wednesday.

Everything Georgia Girl said. :)

Except that I have 4.5 cc in my 10 cc band. Not good enough, yet. I get hungry about an hour or two after eating regular food. At least that's better than I was pre-surgery, though - it used to be immediate hunger.

I think hunger is something we all have to accept as a part of life. But, there are ways to manage hunger and prevent it from getting out of control.

How many times per day are you eating? I eat 6 times per day and I try to space them out every 3-4 hours. This prevents me from ever getting that out of control hunger feeling.

Select high Protein foods and complex carbs (brown rice, whole potatoes etc.) because these foods burn slowly in us which helps us stay satisfied until the next meal. I don't worry about the amount I eat at each meal as long as the food is balanced and nutritionally responsible...not junk.

I guess I'm trying to say that sometimes we just need to play around with what we're eating when we're having a lot of hunger issues. Usually, you'll notice that your diet includes too much sugar products and simple carbs (white bread, white rice etc.) and those items will keep your blood sugar going crazy thus making you hungry more often and more intensely. I hope this helps!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
