NSV and a new errand to run...

Recommended Posts

So, yesterday I was doing my laundry (yes, ladies, some married men do their own) and while I was picking some up out of the basket, my wedding ring fell off my finger. It didn't get pulled off; it just fell off. :D So, now I have a new errand of getting my ring resized. That is a great errand to have. :woot:

That's such a great feeling!! Congrats on your weight loss! I only have one suggestion....don't resize yet! I quit wearing the rings on my right hand right away for fear of losing them. Wedding ring still fit because as a child I broke my finger at the joint above the ring so it's a little bigger and helped to hold it on. Anyway, it got too loose, took it in to resize and didn't get it small enough, don't know if it was cold/hot that day or what happened but sized it tight and when I got it back it still twirls like crazy!! My jewelers suggestion was to get a spacer or just put a little medical tape on the back till you lose all the weight. Congratulations again, and keep up the good work!

That's great - both that you do your laundry and that the ring fell off! I just bought a ring . . . and am wearing it on my pinky . . . until I can start moving it across my hand (I'm easily amused). Keep up the great work!.

My wedding rings no longer fit my hand whatsoever, they slide right off. So I have it on my right hand, but it's too big there also.

I'm afraid if I resize it now, I may need to resize it again.. and due to warranty, the only place I can resize mine is a couple hours away.. and who knows how much it'll cost B)

Mine is getting there too...that is awesome!

Hey how did your wife convince you to do the laundry? I would like to work on that with my husband! :heh:

"Hey how did your wife convince you to do the laundry?"

It wasn't her, it was my mom. My mom got sick (almost literally) of washing my football uniforms, so she mandated I learn how to do my own laundry. Between her and the military I learned perfectly how to do my own laundry and cook for myself. Truth be told, I actually now prefer I do both for myself. It works for my wife, as she does the kids and her laundry (enough of a job) and she doesn't have to worry about cooking for me, especially since I get home about 2 hours after the kids eat dinner.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

my husband does his own laundry too. he too is a military man, and even folds all his shirts in 6" squares and makes the bed super tight.

Congrats on the NSV!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
