Getting Banded on Wednesday Feb 16

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to get banded. I am getting banded on Wed Feb 16. I am 5'6'' and 195 pounds. I have decided to have Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana do it. I have decided that this is my limit. The last time I weighed this amount was in my 9th month of pregnancy.

I just told my primary doctor that I am getting banded. He said that if I had the discipline to save 9500.00 that I should have the discipline to get a trainer. He also asked me what would I do if anything happens down in Mexico. So if anyone can help me answer these questions I would be grateful.

He suggested that I try phentaramine. I told him that it makes me agitated and jittery. He said that the dose could be reduced and coreg (beta-blocker) could be given to slow the heartbeat. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I am still trying to learn what threads are and how to use this site. I still don't know how to get the ticker or how to chat etc. I would be open to any suggestions on how to use this site.

Thank You,

Tammy

Hi Everyone,

I am back from Tijuana and am now officially banded. YeeHaww...Everything went extremely well and I met some new friends. Today has been the "worst" day for belching, burping and I just wish that I would pass more gas(i know gross but true) The first thing I put into my mouth after surgery without even thinking was the dinner mint on the bed. God I just annoy the hell out of myself anyway I made up for that by taking a good long walk.

I just want to be sure that the only things that I can have for the next 2 weeks is broth, Jello, popsicles only watery ones no pulp, clear juices no pulp, broth cheweable kids vitamens. If there is anything else let me know, but I'm not really hungary and when I do eat it is painful, not painful it just feels like i ate too quickly or something. And then I burp like a sailor. I am so excited to start my new life. I am excited to be part of this family and am happy to meet new friends...All the best
