I had my lap band done by dr.ortiz. Everything went perfectly, however just be sure that you have a doctor that will follow you here in the U.S. unless you can afford the time and money to go back to tijuana. I live in a rural area and am having difficulty finding fill docs and follow up care docs

I need a fill/any doctor to help me:help:. The local bariatric doctor cannot give me a fill. He tried and said that my port was unusual and he and his partner tried and couldn't fill it. The doctor who can and has in the past done my fills is in Frederick Maryland(3 hours away) and does not do fluroscopy. I haven't had a fill in over a year and was doing quite well however now am having choking fits at night...which interrupts my sleep. It really scares me. I don't want to go all the way back to Mexico. Is there any doctor that can help me in Maryland? Thanks in advance for your help.

Also will a local er doc be able to help me? I live in a rural area and I know these docs have limited if any experience with lap bands. Will they even agree to treat me when I tell them this was done in Mexico?

I am having the same problems as tybalt. I am burping all the time and it feels like I'm trying to swallow my burps...does that make sense? It just feels like something is stuck. I have made myself vomit because it feels like something is just stuck right below my sternum. I can drink water but I feel like I could throw up, although I didn't today because I wasn't near a bathroom. I hardly slept at all last night because i woke up choking. I got my band 2 years ago this month by dr. ortiz in Tijuana. My last fill was in august of 2006. I have to travel over 3 hours to get my fills. I called my doctor today (who does my fills ) and she never called me back. I tried to drink carbonated beverages but it doesn't seem to be working. I was hoping I could wait it out and eventually it would go away. I don't trust the local bariatric surgeons in my area because they just started to do lap bands 3 months ago. If I go to the ER what do you think they will do? Should I go? I'm afraid that I won't be able to sleep tonight because the stuff leaks in my throat and makes me cough something terrible. It feels like it went down the wrong tube...Any advise would be helpful

I need a fill and I am visiting las vegas in June..The only doc in Maryland that I know of that does fills is off on disabiltiy? Can I see a doc in Vegas for a fill?

Okay...I went to ticker factory...they have three choices "bbcode", "HTML", or "ezCode" I clicked into the HTML and then clicked "select all" then hit "copy" then went into a post and pressed "paste"....as you can clearly see....unsuccessful....then I went to ezCode....clicked while in the box..."select all" then "copy". Then went to post...and while in the box...I presssed paste....then hit save changes...and then it still didn't work...Is my computer on crack or what...Okay now I am hitting computer as hard as I can...okay now getting ready to throw computer across the room...
