I didn't get my fill today. The doc said that me taking prednisone is a bad combo for getting a fill. Prednisone causes body tissue to swell and that would make my fill too tight or perfect for now and as soon as the swelling goes down I would need another fill. So we made an appointment for next month. I am going to the regular doctor again tomorrow, as I still have a weird cough, and it sounds like I have cotton in my lungs. So it's off for x-rays tomorrow. Maybe I'll be off work for the next week or so anyway. I'll let you all know what the doc says tomorrow.

Oh when I was at the band doc's office I got to see the new band from J&J. (the realize) it was soo cool. I told my surgeon he was mean for showing it to me. I said it was like showing a wind 95 user Vista. they don't even make my band anymore, I'm obsolete. ~Mandy

Most of us are probably obsolete Mandy----but we are in good company!!!

And I am of the opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I'll hang on to this one for as long as possible, then if need be I will upgrade!!!

Hope you feel better soon, and that your Xrays are ok!!

Hugs!

Kat

Hi there! I just wanted to check in. I had my surgery on Monday and I am so excited to be officially banded. The surgery went great. My only complaint right now is horrible gas pains in my left shoulder. OUCHIE! I'm walking as much as I can and I have tried a heating pad but nothing seems to be easing up this pain. I guess I just have to be patient and let it work it's way out. So far I have absolutely no hunger. I am pretty much forcing myself to drink 3 shakes a day and then sipping fluids the rest of the time. Anyways, I just wanted to share! I hope everyone is doing well and I am looking forward to visiting with you all more!

Hi everyone,

Mandi, I'm sorry to hear that you're sick again! I hope the new meds kick into gear for you.

Renee, welcome to Bandland! How's the shoulder pain? I had that for the first few weeks, but it gradually went away. When do you get to move to mushies?

Kat, what an ordeal! Thank God they all turned up safe. I read about the missing hikers on yahoo - it sure is a small world!

I wish I had time for more personals but DD is about to be dropped off. She spent the day with her Grandma. Hugs everyone! :)

Thanks for the well wishes guys, it makes me feel better to know you guys are out there. I'm so tired of being sick, this is what almost 4 months now without much healthy time? This all started the end of Sept, and has been and on going thing. The doctor told me today that it is a regular infection that has just mutated from all the antibiotics that I have taken. I get better and then I'm sick again right away. I'm hoping this will be the combo that actually makes me better. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers guys, Mandy

Hi all~~

I am in Albq. with my Dad, he had the other side of his carotid artery surgery today. Not sure but think he suffered a minor stroke during the procedure, he is slurring, and has no feeling or control of part of his tongue. Will hopefully know more tomorrow.

Sorry I have no time for personals---will try when I get home to catch up.

Mandy DO feel better soon! ((((hugs))))

Kat, we got good news today from Abi's doctor, here's hoping you get the same for Dad. Tell him the LBT girls are pulling and praying for him.

We went to the neuro today and got the results of the tests from over Christmas break. Abi was seizure free during the test!!! The head aches are most likely coming from something she is eating, so we are monitoring her diet, especially what she eats at school, as that's where the headaches are starting most of the time. He says the easiest thing to do is mark when she has a headache on the lunch menu, then we will either see a pattern or we can write off the food being the cause. He put her on Periacten (sp?) and that should help with the headaches, and it will help her sleep too.

I'm feeling less and less dead everyday, so maybe this won't kill me afterall. ~Mandy

Howdy everyone, Sounds like people are on the mend and that's a good thing. Work has been the usual nuts...it's hard sometimes because I don't know what to tell people that confide in me on things I really shouldn't be hearing sometimes. I guess it's a good sign that people trust me but, man...I really need to practice my Reiki to keep myself from getting worked up. Hard to explain but, I'm managing and getting by. I just keep telling myself one day at a time, work hard and go home leaving work at work. Not always easy though.

Christine and her new boo are coming over today for a late lunch before the big Patriots game tonight. We haven't exchanged our Christmas gifts yet so we're going to do that today and then have some chili I have going in my crockpot and Chris is going to show me how to make Pasta Fagioli yummmm. We'll have a good time.

Just got a message from her she's around the corner so I have to go. Hope everyone is having a great Saturday. Chat with you soon!

Good Afternoon,

Good to see some old faces and some new faces here. Congrats to all the new band-land folks and the to be band-land folks.... good luck on your journey.

To all who are not feeling quite up to snuff *GENTLE HUGS*

Its been a trying week. My niece had a baby boy the other day and she had to have an emergency histo... she was bleeding so bad they couldn't stop it... they gave her a 50/50 chance of survival...but through the Grace of God... she survived and is doing better. PRAISE GOD for He is GOOD...I'm not sure when she'll be able to go home (ohhh the baby is doing great, he is 10 lbs LOL... another lap-band candidate hehehe just kidding). Gotta laugh in trying times or you'll bust.

Work is insane...it gets crazier by the day. DD's life had taken over mine, I am running every night to either karate or swim or something...homework, dinner, showers, etc... I'M POOPED !

Weight loss ??????????haaaaaaaaaaa whats that. I have some serious issues folks... I need to work on them.

Other than that...its... SOSDD LOLOL did I mention how tired I am :frown:~ snort.

Love you all..... happy new year and lets lose the weight in 2008.

;)

Hey girlies, just stopped in to ask for a big favor, I know I'm asking a lot since I've been MIA for a while, but lots of personals going on, so please forgive me.

The real favor is I need a little prayer, I'm having TT and B/reduction and lift tomorrow 10:00 AM and I'm scared to death, so much, if I don't cancel it will be a miracle.

Started off I was just doing the "girls", then a little Lipo on the back "flank" area, then when I went for my preop and testing on Wed, the doctor suggested Tummy Tuck, but without going into the muscles. He said it wouldn't be as risky of a surgery and since I'd already had a mini TT, he thought I'd be ok without the muscle tightnining, which is the most painful part.

Of course didn't adjust the $6,000 figure too much, LOL.

As for the B-redu/lift, that's another $6700!!!!

We had a local lady that died last year almost a year ago to the date from having the same surgery...YIKES.

Hugs to you all!

PS

Hubby says it's up to me, but he loves me the way I am and thinks the "F"S are fine. I'm seriously thinking of cutting out something, excuse the pun, either the lipo or maybe the TT, just seems like a lot to heal, especially at my age :welldoneclap:.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
